Southern Steel Guitar Convention

Southern Steel Guitar Convention Through the cooperative efforts of Co-Founders Buddy Walker and Charles L Reece it was moved to the Saluda Shrine Club in Saluda SC for 25 years. Louis, MO.

The Southern Steel Guitar Convention began in February of 1987 in Belvedere, SC as a means for steel guitar players and other musicians to get together and enjoy playing their music. In 2013 it was moved to the Jaycee Building in Belvedere, SC. While it is not the oldest Steel Guitar Convention in existence, The Southern Steel Guitar Convention is held two times per year in May and November.

to 2000 persons annually enjoys the relaxed atmosphere with Good Music, Good Food, and Good Fun and Fellowship at the convention. These events are very much like a large family re-union. We have one Headline Performer and an average of about a dozen more. Many of these are players of world renowned and many are members of The International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in St.
