Life of traveling artists

Some musings from the lower middle class as we've been out on the road...

We are living in the most expensive time period in U.S. history. We drink Folger’s, we shop at Walmart, and we are not ashamed of that.

We share this not for pity, but to say that we understand the choices you make when deciding on whether or not you can make it to the show.

There’s this bittersweet generosity that we encounter quite often as musicians. Most people will do what they can to help you, and they’d do a lot more if they had the means to.

When you buy a ticket to one of our shows, it’s a really big deal to us. You opted in to see an unknown artist play music when most people would pass or save up for an arena show.

So, whether it’s Admiral Radio or another small artist you support, please remember that the impact you make on us is very direct.

And in return, we hope to create an experience for you that makes you feel good about the choice you made to come see us play. We hope to put on a show that rivals the quality and care of any big show you’ve ever seen.

So, the next time you see a show poster in a window, pause for a second and check it out. You might just hear your new favorite band, sit front row, and chat with them after the show.

We’re all up against a lot. And although we can’t do it all, we still make an impact. So, thank you for coming to the shows. Thank you for sharing it with a friend. And thank you for being here with us.

T. Buckley was a perfect bookend to our 7th season series at the Belt Theater. Their authentic Western rooted storytelling resonated through harmonies that hit just right. What an experience — Thank you Tim, Jesse and Mitch! Safe travels home, eh!
