About 7 years ago, I took a very special set of mini-skeins that I had dyed with and and knit bunting with it in a fade pattern. All that it needed to be finished was to string it up, and I finally did it! I sewed the flags onto a ready-made strip of bias binding with my sewing machine, climbed on a ladder, and tacked it up! I love it so much ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅฐ Ode to the now-defunct Utah Fiber Collective! ๐Ÿ’•

It's my birthday! To celebrate, I took special fabric that I bought 20 years ago in Senegal and sewed myself a Ginger Tie Top by -- a pattern I never would have been able to wear pre breast reduction! I dolled myself up for the joy of it and Bianca snapped some pics. It's been a glorious day to turn 39!

My rug my rug my rug my rug!! When we got our tax return this year, my celebratory treat was a three foot peg loom from -- after a few pillow covers to get the feel for the process, I wove myself an epic wool rug! I'm so in love. It took a few months to finish this project, and I'm so glad I did it!

I'm so lucky to have an aunt and uncle who keep pet sheep on their homestead on Cape Cod. I'm heading down next weekend, and I hate to go empty-handed! I got a new peg loom and I'm enjoying weaving their wool and other fibers.

Penny and I have a new finished project to show off! This is a Scout Tee by . I sewed a size 16, meant for a 42" bust, as a mistake. I conflated my former and current bust measurements, and ended up with something wrong ๐Ÿ˜‚ luckily the pattern had just enough ease built in that it works anyway! The checked fabric is a sweet and luscious double gauze that I bought years ago at that I used for a darling dress for Bianca, and I had just enough left for the two body pieces. For the sleeves, I ended up using some orphaned curtains with an applied lace hem on them: thus deleting the step of hemming the sleeves, and giving a fun lace edging! (Thanks Buy Nothing Belmont!) The sleeves are therefore longer than the pattern calls for. Anyway, it was so satisfying to use up almost all of this beautiful remnant, and a lot of fun to put this great-fitting top together! It's so fun to remember how afraid I was of sewing my own clothes, and now I feel so confident in it!

I'm so proud of my pants! I can't believe them! I've sewn several pairs of pants in my time, but never for myself. It feels like magic. This is a wearable muslin of the Luna Pants by with 2 mods: a drawstring instead of an elastic waist, and no gathering at the ankles. I'm so tickled, and ready to make another pair!

Attention spinners! I have some very special batts on my website. I love carding batts, and it's especially fun when I get to use family wool! Both of the varieties of batt on my website with "Aries" in the name include Icelandic wool from my aunt and uncle's handsome ram here in Massachusetts.

As a reminder, I have 25% off my whole website this week with the code 25IN25!
