I am so grateful and honored they chose me to be part of the NoDa arts district for the past few years! I still pinch myself when I think about how Ruby’s took my art to the next level and brought so many more opportunities. But, as we’ve all had to do in recent history, it’s time to pivot. Hopefully, I’ll be part of the Ruby’s family when they eventually reopen. Until then, Raving_Squirrel_Studio will take this blessing as a chance to grow with other local galleries and stores as well as online!

The NoDa store on North Davidson Street sells artisan works from art and glass to pottery and jewelry. The owner vows to return at some point.

While I love my abstracts and the freedom and flow of the inks, sometimes I need the comfort and structure of brush to canvas. And, yes, I always set my palette up the same way every time 😳🤣!

We’re all quarantined here in the US and my kids are being schooled online for the remainder of the year. To stifle our cabin fever and get in some physical education, I decided to try my hand at woodworking and build a cornhole/beanbag toss board. It was fun to play with resin on a piece this big, but I also realized in the process why resin pieces this large start at $1000. It took way more resin than I would use for a table full smaller pieces and coasters. I think this was a one time project, but it was nice to create when things are so wild in the world right now. Take care and stay safe!

I love playing with gorgeous, vibrant colors that inspire fun and freedom. This piece and its earthy hues and layers is inspired by an agate bookend that I love. Making this piece was serene and grounding. I loved making it and I hope you love it, too!

This little fella was re-homed today to a lady who needed some joy in her life! It is such an honor to know that something I’ve created will make someone else happy to look at. Art is such a visceral thing sometimes. It’s scary to stare at a blank canvas or try a new technique and then put it out there for the world. 🐿☠️ But, when you know someone *loves* something you took a risk on, it’s worth it.

I was able to play with resin the other week when it was unseasonably warm. I walk by this piece everyday and love it more and more! I’ve got the itch to play some more, but my studio art area is in my (unheated) garage. ☹️ Maybe it’s time for a home addition! 🤣
