One of the joys of being part of Boston's performing arts community is cheering on the extraordinary work of our colleagues.

We're delighted to share an upcoming project from our friends at Opera UnTapped and Circus 617: Arias Aloft: Chromatic.

This unique outdoor production combines opera, musical theater, and cabaret favorites with breathtaking circus artistry, all inspired by the vivid colors and beauty of the natural world. Created for some of New England's most beautiful outdoor venues, Arias Aloft: Chromatic promises an evening of music, movement, wonder, and summer magic.

The production features Opera UnTapped's Kathryn McKellar (who many of you know from her tireless work supporting Boston's arts community), an outstanding cast of singers and circus artists, and creative direction by Kathryn McKellar and Ellen Waylonis.

Friends,

As we move through this vibrant month of music, we know you’ve been hearing from us about our upcoming May 22 Cabaret for Community—and we’re so grateful for your enthusiasm and support.

At the same time, one of the things we value most is being part of a living, breathing artistic community. We collaborate, we inspire one another, and we show up for each other’s work. With that spirit in mind, we’d love to share another concert we think you’ll truly enjoy.

Ian Watson—who has played such an essential role in many of our most ambitious and meaningful projects—will be performing with an extraordinary group of artists.

Viva Vivaldi: The Four Seasons
Sunday, May 17 at 3:00 PM
The Plymouth Church, Framingham

Step into a world where music breathes, storms rage, birds sing, and winter crackles by the fire. Vivaldi’s Four Seasonsisn’t just iconic—it’s cinematic, visceral, and alive with color. One of the earliest examples of storytelling through music, it captures nature in motion—from springtime renewal to icy winter stillness.

Performed on period instruments—gut strings and Baroque bows—this concert reveals a palette of textures and colors that feel immediate, vivid, and alive. It’s Baroque music as it was meant to be heard: expressive, dynamic, and full of surprise.

Tickets: $40 / $20 seniors & students

If you’re looking to fill your May with beautiful music (and we hope you are!), this is a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the region’s finest musicians in a program that never loses its power to astonish.

We hope you’ll consider joining them—and, of course, we’d love to see you on May 22 as well!

With warmth and appreciation,
Jessica

P.S. We’ll continue to share concerts and events from artists we admire—because a thriving musical community is something we all build together!

On Friday May 22, from 7-9pm - the Henry Purcell Society of Boston invites you to enjoy and evening of music from Baroque to Broadway, a theatrical cabaret spanning the era of Restoration England through the present day.

From the lively and satirical stages of 17th-century London to the voices of modern Broadway, music has long carried the currents of protest, hope, humor, and resilience. In times of uncertainty, artists have turned to song not only to entertain, but to question, to challenge, and to bring communities together.

In this intimate evening of music, our artists explore that enduring tradition through works that are witty, poignant, and deeply human.

This concert also serves a humanitarian purpose. Proceeds from the evening will support the PAIR Project (Political Asylum/Immigration Representation Project) and Compassion in Action, organizations dedicated to assisting individuals and families navigating the immigration and asylum process.

Through legal advocacy, volunteer support, and community-based aid, their work helps ensure that vulnerable members of our community receive guidance, dignity, and care.

Tickets for this event are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis, so that everyone who wishes to attend may do so. 100% of proceeds will benefit the PAIR Project, and Compassion in Action.

Join us for an evening of music, reflection, and community—and help support meaningful work close to home!
