Did you know....
Many chemicals found in plants work to prevent damage on a cellular level and are known as antioxidants.
Carotenoids (like beta-carotene found in carrots & lycopene found in watermelon), polyphenols (turmeric), and flavonoids (found in kale, apple, lemons) are natural antioxidants and we want to make sure they get incorporated into our diets on a daily basis.
Antioxidants destroy free radicals and we love them for that! Just as rust can destroy metal, free radicals can deteriorate healthy cells so want to make sure we are equipping our body with an arsenal of antioxidants.
Juicing is a helpful “weapon” when it comes to incorporating enough antioxidants into your diet. Not only is it delicious but it’s highly bioavailable which means your body can absorb it.
This is also why most of our juices are vegetable based. Vegetables tend to be difficult to eat on the go which means less vegetables get consumed as a whole.
