May 8, 2022, was our first Bible study in The Dugout.

Tonight will be our last Bible study in this room as it currently stands. Tomorrow, construction begins on its expansion.

People ask us all the time if we ever imagined Home Run Ranch becoming what it is today.

The honest answer is—not even close.

We never had a master plan for any of this. We simply kept opening our doors, the students kept showing up and God continued providing a place every step of the way.

Over the years, our Bible study has met in:

• Our living room — September 2017 through March 2020
• Online — beginning March 15, 2020, because of COVID
• Outdoors at Home Run Ranch — beginning June 9, 2020
• Bells High School football stadium — July 12 and 19, 2020
• The patio at Home Run Ranch — beginning August 23, 2020
• Antioch Church — November 29, 2020
• Our garage — beginning January 31, 2021
• The Dugout — beginning May 8, 2022

There’s something pretty special about the fact that we met in our garage for more than a year. We packed students anywhere we could, and they would even fight over who got to sit on our golf cart during Bible study.

Now, that same garage is becoming the expansion of The Dugout. A space that once served as our temporary meeting place will become a permanent part of the ministry’s future.

And the story continues over the next few weeks:

📍 September 6 — We’ll meet in the gym at Post Oak Fellowship in Sherman.

💦 September 13 — We’ll return to Home Run Ranch for a very special baptism night on the Wiffle ball field.

🏠 September 20 — Lord willing, we’ll gather for the first time inside the newly expanded Dugout!

From our living room to a computer screen, football stadium, patio, church, garage, The Dugout, gym and Wiffle ball field—God has always provided a place.

Tonight will be a little bittersweet as we close this chapter, but we’re incredibly excited about what comes next. This expansion will mean more room for more students, more relationships, more worship and more lives changed.

The location has changed many times. The purpose never has:

Give students a place to belong, share the love of Jesus with them and trust God with the rest.

One chapter closes tonight. A new one begins tomorrow.

We had two great groups at Home Run Ranch today!

One group came from McKinney for a surprise bachelor party, while the other was a softball team from Gainesville. Lots of laughs, friendly competition, and memories made all around.

We love seeing people come together and enjoy this place!

We’ve reached the “next step” here at Home Run Ranch.

For years, we kept thinking the students might eventually stop showing up—but they haven’t. Instead, God has continued to bring more and more young people through our doors each week.

We’ve put off expanding the building for as long as we could, but we simply can’t wait any longer. We’re out of room, and it’s time to make space for what God continues to do here.

This expansion means giving up our personal garage and turning that space over to the ministry. It’s a significant step for our family, but we know it’s the right one.

It’s time to take the next step in this amazingly wild and beautiful story that only God could have written.

When? The plan is to start this Friday! 😅
The estimated cost of the project is $60,000. We’re moving forward with the expansion, but we would love to give others the opportunity to be part of it.
