Workshop Alert!!
Ethereal Arts Northwest is hosting me for workshops at their lovely studio in Gig Harbor, WA!
I will be in town for a visit April 12th -19th and offering a silks workshop focused on flow and transition, a dynamic sling workshop, and an all levels workshop focused on creative movement from the ground to the air! The Creative Movement and Play workshop is inclusive to those with no aerial experience who want to try something new, students who haven't been in the air in a long time, or those with a lot of experience who want to focus on creative expression! Come hang out and play with us!
Please note that it's important to me that these workshops are financially accessible to anyone who wants to attend, so they are being offered on a sliding scale. The top tier is the standard price for a workshop at EANW. If you have the means to pay full price to support Chelsea as an artist and this amazing studio space we would really appreciate that! If the lower price is more comfortable for you, we want you to be able to join us and are so happy to welcome you at whatever price you can manage. Hopefully, this will help with the cost of gas for friends driving from surrounding areas of Seattle.

Creative Movement and Play
Saturday, April 12th at 12pm - 3pm
An exploration of floor work and aerial arts for all levels of experience, this inclusive workshop is suitable for students working at an introductory level or experienced aerialists finding their voice as a performance artist. We'll move through a series of exercises that apply the concepts of choreography, musicality, and phrasing to add dynamics to your circus movement discipline. Learn how to connect creative movement, music, and integrated play to your practice to deepen your quality of movement. Students will learn to tune their bodies like an instrument, transforming their act creation process from a sequence of tricks into an expression of art.
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for this workshop. Inclusive to all levels of experience. Bring a creative mind and willingness to try something new. If you have never done aerial before, please let us know after signing up and we will give you some information on how to prepare for this workshop!

Aerial Fabric: Silky Smooth Fabric Flow
Saturday, April 19th at 10am - 12pm
Learn some fun new sequencing in this Fabric Flow workshop. We'll explore sequencing using split fabric pathways and the space between transitions to add some flair to your routine. We'll find skills that transition smoothly to the next movement and start to build sections of choreography for you to take home with you.
Prerequisites: Students should be working at an intermediate level and feel comfortable moving through sequences in the air for up to five minutes. Students should be comfortable inverting as well as executing a hip key and cross back straddle in the air.

Aerial Sling: Drops, Beats and Sling Pathways
Saturday, April 19th at 1pm - 3pm
Learn to move through the air with power and fluidity on the single point aerial sling. Building from the fundamentals of beat theory, we'll explore spinning and momentum techniques that lead to more dynamic pathways. We'll also work on some fun drops and intermediate sequences to add to your sling repertoire. This workshop will explore the fun ways that sling can cross over from apparatuses like rope, trapeze, or fabric. Come hang around with us!
Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable working at an intermediate level or higher, including inverting above the loop and have the stamina to stay in the air for three to five minutes at a time. Knowledge of catcher's wrap, seatbelt, and basic drops such as a 360 and knee drop is recommended.
