Tonight! Auditions for the remaining roles in the BTG Satellites production of A. R. Gurney’s “Family Furniture” are scheduled for September 23rd, 6 pm – 8 pm, at the Explorations Academy (1701 Ellis Street, #215).
Director Gregory Berry of Outsiders Inn has already cast the mother in this clear-eyed coming-of-age story of that certain summer in the 1950s when everything shifts for one particular family. Berry is looking for actors to fill the major roles of the father and the younger members of the family. Those roles are:
– Russell, the father, fifties
– Nick, the son, early twenties
– Peggy, the daughter, a couple years older than Nick
– Betsy, Nick’s girlfriend, early twenties
Actors are expected to be ready for movement and prepared to do some cold readings from the script.
If necessary, there will be callbacks on September 24, 2026.
One of the gems in Gurney’s body-of-work exploring WASP culture in America, Family Furniture performs at the New Prospect Theatre from November 12-22, 2026, with 7:30pm evening performances, and 2pm matinees on Sundays, with tickets at $15, and available at New Prospect Theatre via ThunderTix (tickets available in September 2026).
BTG SATELLITES is a partnership between the Bellingham Theatre Guild and the New Prospect Theatre, to produce theater outside the confines of the BTG.
