We set the stage last night and an impressive mix of returning teams and newcomers delivered one hell of a show. What a sight.
In true Shannon's fashion, the leaderboard had more changes than my ex’s relationship status (seriously). But one thing was certain — our teams absolutely STRUGGLED right out of the gate. Apparently those “Last 5 Words” questions were public enemy #1. Don’t worry though… there were still four more rounds to embarrass yourselves. Here’s how the drama unfolded.
🥉 Trivia HIPAA – The newcomers rolled into Green Street ready to test the trivia waters, and test them they did. They came out swinging, stacked up an impressive lead, and looked poised to run away with the whole thing. Fate, however, had other plans. Apparently feeling a little too comfortable, they wagered ZERO on the final question thinking they could coast to victory on vibes alone. Bold strategy, kids. Unfortunately, devastatingly wrong. Congrats on getting the final question wrong… and somehow still walking away with 3rd Place. At least we got a killer team photo.
🥈 Maddie’s Baddies – At this point we’re calling it a tradition. The returning squad came out strong but, like clockwork, took a zero in the 2nd round (just like last week). But hey — adversity builds character, right? A monster 4th round launched them right back into contention. They pushed all their chips in on the final, but sadly didn’t have enough equity to pull off the miracle. Congrats to our 2nd Place winners — also known as our First Place Losers™. Two weeks in a row. Honestly? That kind of consistency deserves respect.
🥇 The Misfits – The returning champs played with more consistency and confidence than the rest of the field combined. While everyone else was chasing Double Downs like they were scratch tickets, The Misfits stayed cool, played smart, and quietly stacked points all night. Even after a shaky 5th round, they unleashed that all-in energy on the final and absolutely crushed the field. Congrats on the W — and ignore all the drunken boos after the win. That wasn’t hate. That was fear. People fear dominance.
🏆 Honorable Mention: RIP Ho***rs – Mid-pack finish? Sure. Memorable team name? Absolutely elite. Their savage dig at one of America’s most hallowed institutions had this host absolutely dying. Did they know our bar staff were former Ho***rs Girls? No clue. But accidental savagery is still savagery.
💀 Zero Club Watch – Rolling Stones actually had a pretty damn solid night… until the go-big-or-go-home energy got the better of them. Massive wager. Even bigger collapse. Respect for the commitment and an even bigger salute to the absolutely legendary walk of shame afterward. We all enjoyed the carnage.
🎂 Special Birthday Shoutout to Molly! – Happy Birthday to our favorite ex-Ho***rs Girl and one of the MVPs behind the bar. Thanks for keeping the unruly crowd properly fed, watered, and only moderately out of control. Hope the cake lived up to expectations — and sincere apologies for subjecting you to my absolutely terrible singing skills. Frankly, surviving that performance deserves its own prize.
