Cast and Crew:
Berri Bergmann (George Seacoal, Friar Francis)
Berri Bergmann is an Actor, Dancer, Stage manager, and Playwright. Berri is passionate about disability representation in theatre and making theatre more accessible for disabled people, particularly for wheelchair users who have often been excluded from theatre spaces. You may have seen her in Little Lemon’s production Pippin where she was a featured dancer or last summer in Cabaret, where she portrayed Frenchie. She is about to receive her BA in theatre performance with a minor in arts enterprise and cultural innovation.
Allison Calhoon (Margaret, Understudy Hero)
Allison Calhoon is excited to join the cast of Much Ado About Nothing for her first community show in Bellingham. She has recently been seen in Tartuffe, The Untitled Tempest Project (Western Washington University), and The Haunting of Hill House (WWU Student Theatre Productions).
Haylie Conchelos (Dogberry)
Haylie is so incredibly excited to be in her first production with New Prospect! After a brief hiatus to spend lots of time with her daughter, she is thrilled for the opportunity to get back to Shakespeare and honored to be trusted with such a special role.
Adaryn Blair Healy (Beatrice)
Adaryn Blair Healy is so excited to get to play Beatrice as she has been a dream role for many years. Adaryn is visiting for the summer after completing her double major in Musical Theatre and Directing! She is the Artistic Director of Little Lemon Productions which produced Pippin earlier this month! Stay tuned for what is coming next!
Keefe Healy (Don Pedro)
Keefe Healy is a Playwright, Actor and Designer. Keefe is a founding member of Firefly Production which he started with Suzanne Mackay in 1996. Since then, they have performed in NYC across New England and the Pacific Northwest, as well as Fringe Festivals in England, Scotland, Hungary, and The Czech Republic.
Ella Hieronymus (Intimacy Coordinator)
Ella is a recent WWU graduate and is so happy to work this with amazing cast and crew. She has intimacy directed around half a dozen shows after multiple workshops at ACTF as well as a class at WWU with Professor Eva Gil. She encourages everyone to learn more about Intimacy Directing, and if you’re a director, consider bringing one on your team!
Courtney Howe (Ursula)
Much ado about nothing has been Courtney’s favorite Shakespearean play for years she was so excited for this opportunity to finally be in the show! She has had such a wonderful time performing this show with all her awesome friends in the cast and would like to thank everyone for being a part of this production and journey!
David Huss (Assistant Director, Leonato)
David has been in the Bellingham theatre scene about 10 years now as an actor and started producing and directing with Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar earlier this year. He is passionate about The Stage from both sides, in front of the footlights and watching others bring the magic. He was most recently seen as Robert Shaw in The Shark Is Broken and Charlemagne in Pippin, both at New Prospect Theatre. He is thrilled to perform in The Bard’s Much Ado About Nothing!
Joan Kathren (Balthazar, The Watch, Musician)
Joan Kathren (She/They) is a Fairhaven student working toward a career in Applied Theatre. Much Ado is her first show in Bellingham! Previous roles include Feste the Bard in Shakespeare and Dragons (Oregon Shakespeare Festival Green Show), Mother-in-Law in Blood Wedding (Southern Oregon University), CB’s Sister in Dog Sees God (Columbia Basin College), Judith in Equivocation, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Touchstone in As You Like It (The Rude Mechanicals) and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Kamiakin High School).
Suzanne Mackay (Director)
Suzanne Mackay holds a BA in Fine and Performing Arts (directing and choreography) WWU and an M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction VSU. After working in various theatres in Edinburgh Scotland, she returned to the states and formed Firefly Productions Inc. with Keefe Healy. Together they toured throughout Europe performing for thirteen years at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Brighton Fringe Festival, Budapest, the Prague Fringe Festival, throughout New England and in NYC, before relocating back to Bellingham. She is excited to celebrate the thirtieth year of Firefly Productions Inc. with this incredible cast and crew!
Amanda Mills (Conrade)
Amanda has been involved with many theatre productions since she was a child, both on stage and backstage. She is an improvisor who has performed with both The Upfront and ImprovPlayworks. Most recently she as played Babe in Crimes of the Heart (BTG), Jessie in Cry it Out (BTG reading), and Cassie in Speechless (New Prospect. This past year she served as assistant stage manager for Julius Caesar (Kestral Productions).
Finn Niehoff (Claudio)
Finn is an actor, director, intimacy director, and lover of Shakespeare. This is their first full-length Shakespeare production, and they are overjoyed to be playing Claudio! When Finn is not on stage you can either find them collaging or playing Roblox with their roommates (love you guys). They hope you think the show is as swag as they do.
Jon Oldman (Don John)
Jön started doing Shakespeare at the age of ten and apparently hasn't gotten tired of it. Prior to this production, they played Orsino in Twelfth Night at iDiOM theater last fall and also appeared in the gothic horror Dracül and the marathon Greek tragedy show All Our Tragic this past spring. Ha-hey.
Daniel Robinson (Musical Director, Musician)
Through a mish-mash career I've swum in the currents of many genres; from dark, stark experimental beaches to sunny choral atolls and the not always smooth seas of songwriting. Now I'm happily adding to the vibrant world of Bellingham theater. Here is a talented cast game to sing and the strong wash of a glorious time, hundreds of years ago.
Pascale Sanok (Borachio)
Pascale is a fourth-year student at WWU studying theatre performance. She is excited to be working with Firefly Productions for the first time! In her time performing she has been involved with Bellingham TheatreWorks, Bellingham Theatre Guild, Western Washington University, and Columbia College Chicago. Outside of acting, she is passionate about playwriting, literature, history and British standup comedy. She is particularly grateful to the late Consuelo Brennan who ignited her love of theatre and Shakespeare.
Alison Sokoloff (Messenger, Sexton, Party Goer)
Alison is so excited to be a part of this production! After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Theater Performance, Alison is thrilled to be making her post-collegiate debut with this incredible cast and crew. She would like to thank her friends for being a constant source of inspiration and support, and her family for being her biggest cheerleaders. Enjoy the show!!
Jeffrey Stiglitz (Verges)
Jeffrey has been doing theatre around town for a LONG time. You might remember him as Patsy in Spamalot at the Theatre Guild, from doing Reader’s Theatre at BTG and NPT, or radio theatre with the Midnight Mystery Players. He thanks Suzie for asking him to try out and this remarkable cast for accepting him.
Aidan Blaise Ramey (Benedick)
Aiden is thrilled to be a part of this production! Heightened language one of his favorite kinds of theatre. He will be graduating in the spring with a degree in theatre and a degree in music from Western Washington University. You can see him next playing Macduff (in Macbeth, WWU Mainstage)
Karl Ritter Smith (Antonio)
Karl has performed with several local theatre companies, Including Bellingham Theatre Guild, Bellingham TheatreWorks, and The Claire. He's very grateful to Suzy and Firefly Productions for the opportunity to play with the talented cast of Much Ado About Nothing. Much love to Kevin and Jameson for their constant love and support. Hazel VanBuskirk (Hero)
Hazel has been working on productions at the New Prospect Theatre for over 4 years now! She's so excited to get to share this story and work with so many new faces, as well as old friends. It's been so fun diving into her second work on Shakespeare with such a talented cast and crew. She'd like to thank the wonderful directors for this opportunity, and the costumer for letting her wear all the pretty dresses she would ever wish for, and her wonderful scene partners that helped bring Hero to life!
Beth Vonnegut (Costumer)
Started in the 80’s at the Bremerton Community Theatre designing costume plots for plays from Shakespeare to original pieces. Most recently at The Claire, The Lion King, Jr., and Matilda the Musical in Lynden, where she has done a lot of work. Also, she costumed for The Bellingham Theatre Guild: She Loves Me and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She has also worked with independent directors Christopher Key and Judith Owens-Lancaster. Over the past 18 months, she has costumed Foreigner, Big Foot, BioSphere and Brighton Beach Memoris for Bellingham TheatreWorks. She is delighted to work with this company.
