We are tremendously saddened to hear of the passing of Rafael Howell Flores, after a long battle with cancer. Rafael's positive spirit was infectious, and his kindness and musical gifts were well-known throughout our community. Our deepest condolences are with Rafael's family. Please take note of upcoming events: Rafael's Funeral Service on January 9, 2026 and his Celebration of Life on April 18, 2026.

SMCO and the premiere a new work by Leanna Primiani () this Friday and Saturday, a featured NPR and Apple Classical artist whose music for film, television, and the concert hall has drawn widespread acclaim. Her powerful new piece, “No Hiding Place,” examines the homelessness epidemic, and includes recorded testimony of those experiencing housing insecurity.
