The area’s newest recording studio. The Story .... After producing music out of Milwaukee for five years co-owner Geoff Wilbourn started a slug to The Sound Emporium in Nashville in 2013.He loves his Nashville Family and even though he will still head south now and

then it was time. Time for a studio near home that would be based on a good live room rolling 2” analog tape through an analog console. Autumn Records Studio is the newest recording studio in southern Wisconsin. Our main room is over 520 square feet, with 21-foot ceilings. The walls are 5.5 inches thick, and they have hemp wool sound insulation and fire retardant cloth to absorb sound. Our control room is 220 square feet with a new Trident 68 series 24 channel console, Otari MT90 24 track 2" tape machine, Studio Technologies Ecoplate III -Plate Reverb, and 2 Empirical Labs EL8 Distressor Compressor/Limiter. This routed to Avid HDX I/O 16x16 Digital with the Avid HDX card to Apple Mac Studio using Pro Tools Unlimited. We will be tracking our first project in late August and September. All tracking will be done on tape and then printed to pro tools for overdubs, mixing, and editing. Autumn Records plans to open to the public in October with a daily rate with an engineer provided and a separate rate if you have your own qualified engineer. The studio is owned by award-winning record producer Geoff Wilbourn. Geoff has been a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (The Grammys)for over fifteen years. The album Bobby Messano "Music and Other Sundries" won Best Americana Album at the World Music Awards in February of 2024. Geoff has been nominated three times for Producer of the Year at the Josie Music Awards in Nashville. Nominated a few times for the WAMI Producer of the Year winning in 2017. He also has a Billboard Number One Blues album with Bobby Messano "Love and Money" and a Number One Album in the United Kingdom with Trevor Sewell "Calling Nashville". On a fun note, Calling Nashville knocked Ed Sheeran out of the number one spot on all of U.K.

Cool things in the works !!! Over the next few weeks we will be adding gear to the vintage rack unit in the control room.

First are our vintage matched pair of 1960s Viking RP62 (model B) tube microphone preamplifier record/playback modules.

– These units are equipped with 12ax7, (2) 12au7, 6×4 and 6e5 vacuum tubes.

– Serial numbers are near sequential, 16261 & 16297, and have been mated together since new.

– Acquired from the Indigo Ranch Studio collection.

Second we are adding a new Midas XL4-2 2-channel Tube Microphone Preamp

- Class A dual-mono architecture, merging with its twin 12AX7s

- 74dB of clean, crisp gain

Third a Warm Audio WA-2A Tube Optical Compressor

- Completely discrete, all-tube signal path

- Historically accurate 4-tube circuit a faithful re-creation of the iconic LA-2A Leveling Amplifier in a 2RU chassis

- Custom optical photocell
