Artist Zac Ford

When asked about his art, Zac says: "I like to use clay because I can create anything with it. One important fact is that I feel compelled to use up all the clay I purchase for a project, so I will use any remaining bits to create either a completely unique creature or something like an asteroid.

Zac is 18 years old and lives in New York City. Since he was young, he has been extremely curious about early life forms on Planet Earth. Additionally, he is captivated by the five extinction events during our planet's history that wiped out a huge percentage of life forms from the planet each time. When reflecting upon these events, he feels intrigued by the way that life regenerates itself in new forms.

See Zac’s creatures during the month of September.

Wanted: Head or Alive

Just ‘cuz trouble comes to visit doesn’t mean you have to give it a place to grow. Sometimes weeds rise up with the wheat until judgement and sometimes we’ve just got too much tumbleweed in us to keep away.

Artist Morgan Broker will get you in the Halloween spirit with his unique 24/7 Display Window installation. Walk by during the months of September and October, but be careful, you never know what you’ll find!

Meet Morgan during our First Sunday Opening Reception, September 3rd from 12-4:30.

Our summer Imagination Celebration - “Awash in Color” continues through August.

Our Special Exhibition Gallery features work by fourteen registry artists. Each artist chose one color to use as the primary focus of their painting. Anne Kenyon chose the color purple to inspire this piece.

“I have to say I chose purple/violet without much thought that it might be difficult to use it to carry a painting. Common knowledge says blue mixed with red makes purple or violet. But too much blue and it reads as blue. Too much red and it looks like hot pink. Or the wrong red or blue and it looks grey. In a landscape violet is a good substitute for grey and it makes great shadows. But when it needs to be the dominant color in a painting, violet turned out to be a tricky choice.” - Kenyon

“Awash in Color” is sponsored in part by Beard Law Company.
