We’re excited to share that Felicia Grace Designs has been selected as the 2026 Arts in the Park Artist of the Year!

This year is especially meaningful as Felicia celebrates her 10th year participating in Arts in the Park—a true testament to her talent, dedication, and connection to this event and community.

Felicia’s work draws inspiration from the natural world—exploring the interconnected patterns of trees, ocean life, and the human body. Her pieces are both grounding and thought-provoking, reflecting the beauty and complexity of the world around us.

We’re honored to recognize Felicia’s work and her long-standing presence at Arts in the Park, and we can’t wait for you to experience it this June!

✨Arts in the Park Jurying Day! ✨

Today our jury panel gathered to review artist applications for the 30th Annual Arts in the Park. Each year, this process helps ensure a diverse mix of talented artists and mediums that make this event such a beloved Belfast tradition. We’re continually inspired by the creativity and craftsmanship of the artists who apply.

Thank you to everyone who submitted work and to the volunteers who spent time thoughtfully reviewing applications.
A special thank you to Chamber member WCAP for generously allowing us to use some of their conference space for the jurying process.

Artists will be notified soon — and we can’t wait to share the 2026 lineup!

This juried show brings together original art, live music, delicious food, and a steady flow of locals and visitors in one of the most beautiful park settings in midcoast Maine.

One of the unforgettable artistic highlights of many of the past Arts in the Park events was the presence of work by Ronald J. Cowan (1943–2020) — the beloved Belfast wood sculptor whose deeply expressive faces brought old logs, beams, and stumps to life.

Ron’s work wasn’t just art — it was community storytelling carved in wood. Using chainsaws, chisels, and grinders, he revealed faces with personality, emotion, and presence, transforming humble materials into meaningful forms that invited viewers to stop, reflect, and connect.

Many in our community know him best for “The Long Breath” (also called “Muses of the Harbor”), his iconic tide-dependent installation gracing the Belfast waterfront — a public art piece that, like the harbor itself, changed with the rhythms of the tide. One of his sculptures (“Antonio”) even appeared in the film The Man Without a Face. His work continues to live on in private gardens and public spaces throughout Midcoast Maine.

We’re honored to have featured Ron’s work at Arts in the Park — his legacy lives on in every piece that invites a second look and every artist inspired to shape raw material into something meaningful.
