Two lupine drawings. Two different colors. One very Maine inspiration. 🌿

I started with Pink Lupine and then found myself wanting to complete the pair — this time in Purple.

There’s something I love about lupines growing along Maine roadsides. They’re ordinary enough to pass every day, but when they’re blooming, they can completely transform a stretch of roadside.

So now I’m curious…

I’m curious — where would you put them?

1️⃣ Living room
2️⃣ Bedroom
3️⃣ Entryway

I love seeing how the same piece of artwork can completely change the feeling of a space depending on where it lives.

These two are part of my colored-pencil work inspired by the Maine coast and my father’s workshop of wood carvings.

Here is a closer look at “Roadside Lupine, No. 2” 💜

This is the second time I’ve returned to Maine’s roadside lupine as a subject, and I really enjoyed approaching it a little differently this time — especially with the purple bloom against the spring greens.
