2 Sept ~ Bison Ten Yell Day

September 2 ~ Bison-Ten-Yell Day ????

When Ginny announced that September 2 was “Bison-Ten-Yell Day,” one of the staff quickly asked the obvious question:

“What’s that?”

Not missing a beat, Paul chimed in with his explanation:

“Buffalo yell ‘TEN!’ when they’re teeing off on the golf course… or right before tossing a tourist at Yellowstone.”

While the second half of that explanation seemed entirely plausible, the mental image of buffalo playing golf was a little harder to accept.

So, a quick Google search was in order.

As it turns out, Bison-Ten-Yell is a play on the word “Bicentennial.”

Don’t ask us why September 2 was chosen to celebrate this particular “holiday”—but apparently, it was!

And considering the U.S. Bicentennial was 50 years ago in 1976, you could say this celebration has been going strong for half a century.

Much like a buffalo.

Naturally, our first thought was to put a patriotic panel on sale.

But really… where’s the fun in that?

1 Sept ~ National Chicken Boy Day!!

Starting at Midnight tonight!

When Ginny announced that September 1 was National Chicken Boy Day, the shop became unusually quiet.

Finally, Adonica asked the question everyone was thinking:

“What exactly is a Chicken Boy?”

Paul immediately began flapping his arms and crowing doing the funky chicken dance.

Gordie suggested it might be a new superhero:

Faster than a speeding egg!

Able to leap tall henhouses in a single bound!

Defender of truth, justice, and the barnyard way!

The rest of the staff decided we should stop the discussion before anyone found a cape—or Paul climbed to the peak of the roof and started waking neighbors.

Fortunately, we have the perfect panel to celebrate the day without requiring costumes, feathers, or questionable poultry impersonations:

Tomorrow is the start of a NEW Month and with a new month there are a number of things starting!

First, it is national Sewing Month. Stay tune for deals on machines and other sewing related items.

Next, we are starting the Panel of the Day Sale back up. We are going to be doing it slightly different though. Instead of daily emails filling your box, we are going to be listing the sales on the class calendar page. This not only keeps your email box from getting full, it allows you to view ahead as to what panels will be for coming up for sale.

IQD will be participating on the 25th in the "Nine to Five day" tribute to Dolly Parton. On the 25th ALL our Music & Butterfly prints are going to be 25%. But one day just doesn't seem right to honor the memory of someone who gave all of us so much. So, with that in mind, for the entire month of September, with the donation of a new children's book, you will receive 20% off regular priced items. All books collected will be donated to local libraries in support of Dolly's Imagination Library.
