Hello beautiful people, I am so sorry for the silence from us this year. As many of you know we welcomed our beautiful prince William on Thanksgiving last year. Since that time we have had a string of post-partum related health issues spanning several months. Combined with the adjustment of two small children under 3 we have had a hard time keeping our lives organized. Our team has gone through quite a few changes this year with our partners working on new projects and having to move to their own projects as well. We still have a wonderful friendship with Wind Vineyards at Smith Mountain Lake and World Weavers Productions both of which have amazing events happening this year.
That all being said, we have had to make an extremely difficult discussion to put our September Olde Dominion Faire on a hiatus for the time being. We started this adventure to have something exciting in the area that we had not seen yet. In the past several years we have seen many similar events pop up in the surrounding area and we are so excited for those events to offer an experienceike that. However with our single income seeding this event every year and no permanent home it has been difficult to keep this event at a level and price point for everyone.
We will be assisting other event in the region such as the Grapes of Wrath with the Eiserne Löwen - United Medieval Sword Club in June, and several small pop ups in the works with local breweries so we can insure that ale and mead continues to flow.
As for the weekend of September 26th we are tentatively planning something much smaller and intimate. We are trying to put together a regional medieval tournament with a feast you can enjoy while watching brave knights in armor compete.
I know this is not the news you all wanted to hear but we hope you can respect our need for a reset for our mental health. I will be trying to reach out to as many of you as we can directly as we lost access to some of our email accounts with some of our team moving on to new projects.
