I always seem to return to painting poppies. After drifting toward other subjects, there’s something that eventually calls me back, that inner clock that knows it’s time to bring poppies back to life again.
Why poppies? They bloom in disturbed soil, in the aftermath of chaos, demonstrating that beauty can still take root in broken ground. Each stroke of red feels like both a wound and a renewal.
Painting poppies does feel therapeutic. They remind me that fragility and resilience are more partners than opposites. In times when everything feels so precarious, the poppy is a symbol of resistance and the sheer will to exist. ❤️
