Our History...

Little Town Players was founded in 1975 and incorporated a few years later. Its purpose is to promote the visual, performing and literary arts. Also to promote, organize, rehearse and present theatrical productions for the education, enjoyment, and literary enlightenment of the members of the organization and general public. In the early 80's Little Town Players was presented with

a community service award by then President Ronald Reagan. Stan Butler, the president of LTP at that time, traveled to Washington, DC to receive the award. Through the years, LTP has presented over one hundred drama, musical, or comedy productions. In that time hundreds of volunteers have given thousands of hours to the organization to maintain a high level of theatrical excellence. We are looking forward to continuing in that tradition.

Our final show of Season 51 is a new hilarious farcical send-up of Noel Coward comedies which promises to keep you in stitches!

Sylvia and Beau find themselves in an English countryside cottage for their yearly rendezvous, and Sylvia knows this time it will be the beginning of their new life together. But when Beau demurs on a shared future, and their spouses arrive at the cottage, she realizes that this home-away-from-home is a refuge for determining a new path forward and decides to expose her love affair to her husband and her lover’s wife. With a tip of the hat to Noël Coward and tryst comedies of the past, The Cottage offers a perfect showcase for six actors with endless laughs, hilarious twists, daring physical comedy and a happy ending for lovers everywhere. The true meaning of fate, identity, and marriage are called into question as a surprising, hilarious web of secrets unravels in this ridiculous, potentially murderous, uncharacteristically feminist 1923 British tale of betrayal and love.

Our third show of Season 51 promises to leave you with a beautiful message of love and a sweeping, romantic score.

Based on the best-selling novel, and developed by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years, Parade, Songs for a New World) and Pulitzer Prize winner Marsha Norman, "The Bridges of Madison County" captures the lyrical expanse of America's heartland along with the yearning entangled in the eternal question, "What if?..." Winner of the 2014 Tony Award for Best Score and Orchestrations, this sweeping romance about the roads we travel, the doors we open and the bridges we dare to cross will leave audiences breathless.

Francesca Johnson, a middle-aged Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy, looks forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm when her family heads to the 1965 State Fair. When ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, pulls into her driveway seeking directions, though, what happens in those four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life.

Directed by LTP stalwart Lisa Butler (who recently directed our 2025 summer production of "Wizard of Oz"), "The Bridges of Madison County" hopes to make you yearn, feel, and realize that "love is always better."

Show dates: February 19, 20, 26, 27, 2027 @ 7:30 PM; February 21 & 28, 2027 @ 2 PM

Our second show of our 51st season promises to make you laugh, cheer, and Whoop ;-)

Based on the 1992 film, this musical adaptation boasts music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and a book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner, with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane. Originally premiering in London in 2009, it landed on Broadway two years ago, and has had productions mounted all over the world.

When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Directed by LTP veteran Karl Lindevaldsen (recently at the helm of our production of "Camelot"), we hope you'll want to join our sister act in November!

Show dates: November 13, 14, 20, 21, 2026 @ 7:30 PM; November 15 & 22, 2026 @ 2 PM

Our first show of Season 51 guarantees to keep you on the edge of your seat during its iconic final scene!

A sinister con man named Roat and two ex-convicts, Mike and Carlino, are about to meet their match. They have traced the location of a mysterious doll to the Greenwich Village apartment of Sam Hendrix and his blind wife, Susy. Sam had apparently been persuaded by a strange woman to transport the doll across the Canadian border, not knowing that sewn inside were several grams of he**in. When the woman is murdered, the situation becomes more urgent. The con man and his ex-convicts convince Susy that the police have implicated Sam in the woman’s murder, and the doll, which she believes is the key to his innocence, is evidence. However, she refuses to reveal its location, and with the help of a young neighbor, figures out that she is the victim of a bizarre charade. But when Roat kills his associates, a deadly game of cat and mouse ensues between the two.

Adapted into a 1967 film starring Audrey Hepburn, Frederick Knott’s play is sure to thrive under the hands of director Desirée Baughman ("The Diary of Anne Frank," "Bedroom Farce").

Show dates: September 11, 12, 18, 19, 2026 @ 7:30 PM; September 13 & 20, 2026 @ 2 PM
