"Good Night Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet)" Opens October 18!

October 18, 19, 20, 21... Curtain at 7:00

In this exuberant comedy and original revision of Shakespeare's Othello and Romeo and Juliet -- Constance Ledbelly, a drab and dusty academic, deciphers a cryptic manuscript she believes to be the original source for the tragedies, and is transported into the plays themselves. She visits Juliet and Desdemona, has a hand in saving them, and finds out what these women are about. In true Shakespearean spirit, Constance plunders the plays and creates something new, all the while engaging in a personal voyage of self-discovery. With an abundance of twists, fights, dances, seductions, and wild surprises, the play is an absolute joy of theatricality.

Welcome our Thespian of the Week, Asia! Asia is a hard worker and a new addition to our department, and we wanted to acknowledge her excitement for trying new things and the impact she has made on her cast. Asia performed in Bang! Bang! You’re Dead! and is currently in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She works effectively in groups and always has something positive to share. She also has a knack for learning her lines well. Thank you for your hard work and contributions, Asia, and we look forward to seeing more of you in the future!

Welcome our Thespian of the Week, Ben Bain! Ben has worked diligently with his cast to get his show, Bang! Bang! You’re Dead! up and running through snow, scheduling conflicts, and more snow. Putting in a valiant effort, we are proud to award Ben his title for directing and organizing his show from the ground up. Hard working, good with his team, and remaining flexible when encountering obstacles, Ben’s cast has helped to nominate him through his dedication to getting the show up, as well as decisions early on to bring in new actors. Ben has directed before during One Acts, acted in various productions, and helped produce various shows. His continued interest and work ethic has brought him back again and again to various roles in the department. Even last year attending a different school, Ben decided to join our One Acts festival, as well as attend State with the BHS Thespians, and even run for Thespian Council. Thank you for your contribution, Ben, and great job!

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Maxx Rosman! The first TWOT in awhile, we would like to recognize Maxx as a hard-worker and involved newbie. Through all of his work with Get Smart and Bang Bang You’re Dead, Maxx has proven himself to be someone who is reliable, skilled, and willing to try new things. He’s been a primary carpenter in set-building and light board operator during Get Smart. He’s also jumped in last minute on numerous occasions to volunteer his time with concessions, crew, and shows. Thank you for all of your hard work, Maxx, and thanks for joining the department.

Welcome our Thespian of the Week: Ainsley Adams! Ainsley is new to drama, and played our wonderful, sassy Ms. Finch. She’s also helped to choreograph the Dicken’s dance, as well as being kind, supportive, and ready to work hard and play. Ainsley is a wonderful person outside of theatre, too, helping to organize the sock toss and working collaboratively in Student Leadership. As this week’s TWOT, we would also like to cordially invite her to Sadie’s with Natalie Marssdorf. Thanks for all of your compassion, Ainsley!
