‼️This tiny 8mm hinged hoop with decorative texture was placed in a fresh daith piercing 2 YEARS AGO here in Beaumont. ‼️

-The first problem with this is that 8mm is a very small diameter for a fresh daith piercing that’s gonna swell as it’s healing.
-The second problem is that hinged hoops don’t have a seamless closure so as the hoop rotated through the piercing it caused micro tears and irritation that led to irritation bumps and discomfort.
-The third problem is the decorative texture. Do I really have to explain why the texture on the jewelry is gonna cause problems in a fresh piercing?

Her piercing was still causing her pain and discomfort 2 years later and it’s 100% because of the jewelry that was installed by a professional who should’ve known better.

This is the reason I will always continue to educate myself to learn and grow and strive to do better. Because as someone that offers a service that can potentially cause my client problems and discomfort if I don’t do it right, it’s my duty to my clients to make sure I give them the best experience possible. I’m not perfect but one thing about me is I will turn you down for a piercing if I feel like I can’t do it, I don’t have the jewelry for it, or you don’t have the anatomy for it. And I will always own up to my mistakes. If I made a mistake I will tell you then and there so I can fix it for you. I hope to inspire other piercers or professionals that offer services in the area to do the same for their clients. Because one thing is for sure, if you don’t own up to the problem, the client will go somewhere else and they will tell the client about the problem 100%.

Whoever did this to this poor woman needs to do the same as a professional. They should have never willingly and knowingly put this into their client. This is a perfect example of piercers that care about the money over their clients wellbeing.

🚨 PIERCING MYTHS THAT NEED TO GO! 🚨

Let’s clear up a few common misconceptions about piercings. 👀

✨ “You can twist your jewelry to keep it from getting stuck.”
❌ Nope! Twisting and moving your jewelry can actually irritate the healing piercing.

✨ “You need to use alcohol or peroxide to clean your piercing.”
❌ Absolutely not! These can be way too harsh and delay healing. Sterile saline is your friend!

✨ “If it’s red or has a bump, it’s infected.”
❌ Not necessarily! Irritation, pressure, moisture, and improper jewelry can all cause bumps and redness.

✨ “A piercing gun is just as good as a needle.”
❌ There’s a reason professional piercers use sterile, single-use needles. Piercing guns can cause unnecessary blunt-force trauma and aren’t suitable for most piercings.

✨ “You can change your jewelry whenever you want.”
❌ Just because it looks healed on the outside doesn’t mean it’s fully healed on the inside!

✨ “Surgical steel is always safe for everyone.”
❌ Not all jewelry is created equal! Implant-grade titanium is a great option, especially for people with metal sensitivities.

✨ “Once a piercing stops hurting, it’s healed.”
❌ Healing takes time! Some piercings take months, and others can take a year or longer to fully heal.

✨ “Cheap jewelry saves you money.”
❌ Not if it leaves you dealing with irritation, poor fit, or a piercing that won’t heal. Quality jewelry matters!

👃Septum piercings 101!

A properly placed septum is pierced through the “sweet spot” a thin piece of skin in your septum area where no cartilage is. It feels like a little pinch and your eyes usually water a bit because of it but it’s a very simple piercing!

An improperly placed septum can sometimes be pierced through the cartilage in the septum area, causing significant pain, irritation, and swelling. If you feel like your septum was pierced through cartilage it probably took a really long time to heal and was very painful!

This is one of the reasons why continued education with piercings is so important so that we as professional piercers can give you a piercing that will heal right the first time you get it done.
