Professional dreamer ✨ this is why I am an artist: it is my privilege and responsibility to keep my eyes high up in the sky and imagine new and better possibilities.

Lately I have realized that being an artist is not really about the things that you make with your hands. That’s a big part of it, sure. But being an artist is how your work changes you while you make it. It is about how you see and move through the world. It is about creating something good that fills your spirit, and bringing others along with you.

Installation of view of two painting from my recent exhibition at Angelina College “Out of the Shadows”

“Coatl - Threat and Abundance“ is about the fragile relationship between life and death, abundance and threat, and the transformation that emerges from cycles of destruction and renewal.

“Xochitl - Flower and Song Study” is about poetry, art, beauty, and the search for truth in an impermanent world.

“Xochitl - Flower and Song Study”, 2026, acrylic and oil paint on canvas, 8x10 in

This painting draws from the Mexica philosophical concept of in xōchitl, in cuīcatl, or “flower and song,” a metaphor associated with poetry, art, beauty, and the search for truth in an impermanent world. Through this idea, creative expression becomes a way of reaching toward something meaningful and enduring, even as life itself remains fleeting.

Still excited about my exhibition “Out of the Shadows” at Angelina College 😍 plus I got to take some portraits with the incredible Dallas Portrait Photographer | Cara G. I have so many but these are some of my favorites.

After this exhibition, I realized that my role as an artist is to dream. To look forward. To see the better future written in the stars. To try to do my part in making that dream a reality ✨ I hope that through my work I can do some of that.

We’re so back! 🤩

“Coatl - Threat and Abundance”, 2026, acrylic and oil paint on canvas 30x40 inches

Drawing from imagery found in the Codex Borgia, this painting depicts a serpent wrapped around a burning corn plant. Corn, a source of life and abundance, is intertwined with the serpent and the destructive force of fire, bringing nourishment and danger into the same image. Together, these symbols reflect the fragile relationship between life and death, abundance and threat, and the transformation that emerges from cycles of destruction and renewal.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION: In “Out of the Shadows”, Bucheli presents a new site-specific temporary painting, as well as two works on canvas, and a small sculptural work. The exhibition centers on the archetypal figure of the rabbit, a crepuscular creature that exists between light and shadow, serving as a symbol of transition, vulnerability, hope, and perseverance. Through this recurring figure, the exhibition reflects on the immigrant experience in the United States, drawing from Bucheli’s own history while engaging broader narratives of migration, resilience, and belonging.

🔥 I’m having a solo exhibition at this month! Come out Friday 05/22/2026 from 6-9pm

Dario Salvatore Bucheli presents “Transformation Cycle” at Box 13 ArtSpace. The work narrates the mythic journey of the snake: She encounters the moon pierced by a blade and recognizes that transformation requires sacrifice. She then descends underground, entering a liminal space where she sheds her skin and releases what she can no longer carry forward. Finally, she emerges from the earth, reborn into a new form. The cycle continues, an ongoing passage of change, surrender, and renewal.

In this site-specific painting, the snake sheds her skin and becomes a river flowing upward into the night sky, joining the stars as a constellation.
Situated within the “Constellations” Series, the stars are no longer mere celestial markers, but divine symbols that reflect the principles that orient lived experience.
This work presents transformation not just as a rupture, but as an ongoing process that reveals direction.
