🐄 Big thanks to Gulf Credit Union for returning as our Ag Barn Sponsor for the 2027 South Texas State Fair!

For our young livestock exhibitors, the Ag Barns are where months of hard work come together. Students care for their animals, prepare for competition, and share what they’ve learned with Fair visitors.

Along the way, they build responsibility, confidence, and pride in a job well done. They learn that commitment means showing up every day, and that lessons learned in the barn reach far beyond the show ring.

Thank you, Gulf Credit Union, for supporting these kids and helping us celebrate their hard work! 💙

🎡 AND AWAY WE GO!

Our YMBL Fair Committee is in full swing planning the 2027 South Texas State Fair!

Since 1942, the South Texas State Fair & Rodeo has been the YMBL’s only fundraiser, turning Fair fun into support for Southeast Texas. Funds raised makes it possible for the YMBL to give back in meaningful ways by supporting local charities, funding youth programs, and creating family-friendly events for Southeast Texas such as:

Youth Athletics – From the Boys’ Basketball Tournament (over 70 years strong) to the Girls’ Volleyball Tournament (one of the largest in Texas), the YMBL invests in opportunities that help young athletes thrive.

Special Needs Programs – Events like the Babe Zaharias Memorial Relays and Rodeo Youth Day create unforgettable experiences for thousands of children with physical and developmental challenges.

❤️ When you come to the Fair, you’re helping give back to your community.

To our sponsors: THANK YOU for helping make the Fair possible and supporting the work that continues long after the gates close!

The Babe Zaharias Memorial Relays is less than a month away. Please remind your teacher friends to register by October 16.

🎡 WHERE FAIR DOLLARS GO

The YMBL is giving $2,500 to Community Retirement Home, Inc in Port Arthur to help purchase a dependable copier for its residents and staff.

It may sound like a small thing, but the copier helps residents handle medical paperwork, applications, financial documents and other everyday needs. Community Retirement Home has served Southeast Texas seniors for more than 80 years, and we’re glad to support the care they provide.

Thank you to everyone who attends and supports the South Texas State Fair. Your fair dollars help us give back to our community all year long. 💙

YMBL members spent yesterday putting out these ribbons for Gift of Life. Recognize any of these locations? If you see a ribbon out and about, snap a photo and share it in the comments. 💕💕
