One of my favorite parts of this business is the sweet connections that happen along the way.

Hayley’s mama and I quickly discovered a shared love of flowers, and it made designing this wedding even more special.

She later told me how much she loved the sweet peas and that they ended up being one of her favorite flowers from the wedding, even though they weren’t something she would have thought to choose on her own.

I LOVE that!

Sometimes one little flower ends up being the unexpected favorite, and those are the kinds of details that make a wedding feel so personal.

This one was just FUN!!

Hayley & Corey chose the stunning Kirks Mansion for their intimate destination wedding, and their day was full of so much personality, joy, and all the little details that made it feel completely like THEM.

For the flowers, we wanted everything to feel light, airy, and free. Lots of softness and movement, nothing too stiff or overly structured, and blooms that felt like they belonged naturally in the beautiful setting at Kirks Mansion.

I love when a bride & the bride’s mama gives us the freedom to create something that feels beautiful and elegant, but still relaxed and a little playful. These flowers were exactly that!

We LOVED being part of this one!

Fall wedding season is gearing up, and it always makes us want to look back at some of the beautiful fall weddings we’ve had the privilege of being part of over the years.

This one for Emma & Trey will always be such a special one.

Their ceremony was held on the 18th Green at Harbour Town, a place that already held so much personal history for Emma. She had visited it many times with her family over the years while watching her pro golfing dad play in the Heritage, so it felt especially meaningful to have this setting become part of their wedding story too.

We wanted the ceremony flowers to feel like they belonged there, so we designed them to blend into the natural Lowcountry landscape with a soft meadow look of grasses and flowers.

One of the fun things about looking back at weddings from a few years ago is seeing what has changed and what hasn’t. Trends come and go. Colors shift. Shapes and styles evolve. But thoughtful design, beautiful flowers, a sense of place, and details that feel personal to the couple will always be timeless.

That’s something we think about with every wedding we design. We want your flowers to feel fresh and current, but never so trendy that they lose their beauty a few years down the road.

At Tulips & Twigs, our goal is always to create wedding flowers that feel both ON TREND and TIMELESS, and most importantly, completely personal to you.

Emma & Trey, we still love looking back on this beautiful day.

I just can’t let the passing of my dear mother-in-law, Ellyn, go by without sharing a little about her with all of you here.

She was truly the BEST mother-in-law I could have ever asked for, but somewhere along the way, she became so much more than that. She was a wonderful encourager of me and of this business, my friend, and one of the most gracious and thoughtful women I have ever known.

Ellyn had a way of making people feel special.

Her family was truly her greatest joy. Each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild was her delight, and she had a way of making each one feel individually known and treasured.

She remembered birthdays and anniversaries, even for people you wouldn’t expect her to remember! She sent boxes filled with treats for holidays and made family gatherings feel like EVENTS, with beautiful tables, wonderful meals, games, surprises, and details thoughtfully planned long before we arrived.

She was incredibly organized, always prepared, and such an elegant lady. Everything was pressed and put together, her lipstick was on, and her manners were impeccable. But what made her truly elegant was the way she cared for people.

She noticed people. She remembered them. She anticipated what they might need. If you walked into her home, she made sure you were comfortable, fed, cared for, and probably having a little fun too! She also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved a good practical joke!

Even in her final days, when she was so very weak, she was still asking about other people.

That was Ellyn.

She taught me so much simply by the way she lived, and I will carry those lessons with me for the rest of my life.

She was also such an encourager of Tulips & Twigs, and I’m so grateful she got to watch something I loved grow into the business it is today.

We are going to miss her more than I can possibly put into words. I’m thankful for everything she taught us, for all the laughter and memories, and especially for the privilege of calling her not only my mother-in-law, but my dearest friend.

What an extraordinary lady…..

🤍 Happy FIRST anniversary, Jaiden & Ryan! 🤍

I think I’ll always know when your anniversary is coming because my Gloriosa lilies will be blooming! 🌸 I tucked some of those very blooms into Jaiden’s bouquet last year, which makes seeing them in my garden now even sweeter.

This wedding was especially close to my heart. I had the privilege of watching Jaiden grow up into such a lovely young woman, and her mother continues to be one of my dearest friends. Getting to create the flowers for this day was such a joy—and seeing these photos again brings back so many wonderful memories!

From that colorful ceremony overlooking the marsh to all the beautiful reception details, this was a FUN one to flower!! And most importantly, it was the beginning of a marriage. 🤍

Happy anniversary, Jaiden & Ryan! We’re praying for many, many more beautiful years ahead for you both. 🥂

We promised you all the details from this beautiful Dataw Island amd here are some of our favorites!

The soft blues, buttery yellows, and classic whites carried so beautifully through every part of the day.

From Grace’s bouquet and the ceremony flowers to the reception tables and all those thoughtful little details in between.

But what we love most about seeing a wedding like this all together is that the flowers are only one part of the story.

It’s the couple.
The setting.
The carefully chosen details.
The people gathered around the tables.
The cheers, the laughter, and finally getting to CELEBRATE!

🌷 If you’re new here, Hi! I’m Gaye, the heart behind Tulips & Twigs.

A few things about me…

I’ve been married to my husband, Scott, for 36 years. We have three grown children, seven AMAZING grandchildren, and when I’m not surrounded by wedding flowers, you’ll probably find me in my garden, out on the water, or spending time with my family.

I’ve been a follower of Christ for more than 30 years, and my faith is at the center of my life and woven into the heart of this business.

I never really set out to build a wedding floral business. I simply loved flowers and loved working in my garden. Then friends from our church began asking me to help with their weddings…and one wedding became another, and somewhere along the way, Tulips & Twigs was born.

In 2018, I officially turned that love of flowers into a business and Tulips & Twigs has been growing and blooming ever since! 🌷

And here’s one of my favorite parts of that story: some of those same church friends who helped with those very first weddings are STILL beside me today as part of Team T&T. 🤍

We design together, laugh a LOT, work really hard, pray over our wedding days and the marriages beginning on them, and genuinely love being together.

I may be the face you see here most often, but Tulips & Twigs has never been just me.

I love our brides. I love their mamas. I love working alongside the incredible planners and wedding professionals throughout the Lowcountry.

And after all these years, I still get excited about really beautiful flowers.

So, if you’re new here….welcome!

🌸💛 Bright, happy flowers for the sweetest, happiest couple!

Liz & Gabe’s celebration at the Port Royal Sound Foundation was pure Lowcountry joy!!

We loved bringing all that beautiful color into such a unique waterfront venue—and that hanging floral installation might just be one of our favorite details!
