Friends of the Pine River Festival - we were very fortunate to have billydee (Bill Doherty) record ALL of the Pine River Festival sets this year (with permission from bands and in conjunction with Music Masters, Brian Willyard, and Jeff Jones). Below is the link to The Lil Smokies amazing set to close out the festival. More to come as these are ready.

In addition to The Lil Smokies set, it was a great day, with moving, impressive performances by Be Frank Foundation/Music Anywhere's Creative Music Conservatory students, Foggy Memory Boys, Midnight Backhand, and Sam Grisman Project, plus lots of kids activities, tasty craft beverages, delicious food, cool vendors, many of your neighbors and a nice contingent of folks from outside the area.

Unfortunately, we did not attract enough sponsors and paying attendees to cover all the investments in entertainment we made with such high hopes of a record crowd. Pretty humbling to have to acknowledge this fact.

We'll put our heads together to figure out how to do better - or, to Be FRANK - to discuss IF all the work the planning team volunteers put in to this community event is worth it. Yes, it's a labor of love, AND the major purpose of the PRF was/is to raise funds to ensure that any/all students and families wishing to can be part of Be FRANK school year and summer strings programs/camps. And, to have a fun day in Bayfield!

Saturday, 7/29/23 Gate opens at 12 noon

All performances on Main Stage except 5:30 CMC on Aux Stage (aka Stage 2 or Kids Stage)
12:00 - 1:30 (90 min) Foggy Memory Boys
2:00 - 3:30 (90 min) Midnight Backhand
4:00 - 5:30 (90 min) Sam Grisman Project
5:30-6:00 (30 min) CMC students (Stage 2/AUX)

6:15 - 6:30 CMC w/ The Lil Smokies (10 min) -Main Stage

6:30 - 8:00 The Lil Smokies

Sunset- 8:21 pm, Twilight until ~8:48 PM

Note: this is a rain or shine event. Be prepared for sun, rain, etc. And bring your dancing shoes and best ears. Gonna be a great day!

A few pics from Wednesday's Creative Music Conservatory. An amazing group of instructors working with motivated students. You could feel the excitement and engagement! So cool.
These young musicians will perform their Classical pieces at 4pm on Friday at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College, and their "Elective genre" tunes starting at 5:30, Saturday, 7/29 at the Pine River Festival. We hope you can come on out to support them - and Be Frank Foundation!

Found out recently that Dominick Leslie will be playing mandolin with the Sam Grisman Project at the Pine River Festival! Dominick has played multiple times at Folkwest/KSUT Presents festivals in Pagosa. Mighty talented young man! Just when you think it can't get no better than it does!
