Good evening! I just HAD to get out on a little with my dog tonight and boy am I glad I did. The lighting was perfect as the sun was settling into the horizon, a slight breeze in the air and minimal mosquito attacks happening (big bonus!)made the walk joyous. As I happened along, the way the light illuminated this leaf stopped me in my tracks. The sun shining on the leaves brought every beautiful line and crease of the leaves to life...kind of like how someone's good light brings out all of our goodstuff....anyhoo.. thats my leaf moment... now onto these 2 fuzzy bird babies whose parents and their nest I have been stalking. Normally mama and papa are right there but as of late, the babies are more on their own....nestled together with their fluffy feathers waiting for their food and the right time for them to fly like their parents. I stop every day to say "hi babies"....because I love them and feel fortunate to have noticed them up in the tree while out walking. When we pay a bit closer attention to the present, we will notice worlds upon worlds upon worlds just below or above our noses.

Oh how I love Cosmos flowers.
With their long and gangly stems waving in the breeze,
The perfectly delicate crown of a flower reigning above it all,
Reminding us that despite the seemingly delicate nature of a being,
One can still stand tall and beautiful,
In their seemingly small part of the world.

I was recently in Panama and spent some time in the rainforest. Our guide grabbed a fern leaf from the rivers edge and pressed it onto my skin. What resulted was a natural tattoo of a fern leaf on my arm. He went on to say how ferns are the some of oldest plants on the planet and I thought that was just awesome. In that moment, I began to feel quite privileged to share the same earth as these plant elders. To say I was in is an understatement and now, I can't get enough of ferns. :) Check out the fun facts from on ferns!
