Sigh...Once again, we are forced to cancel all of our activities. For the month of May we will not have lessons or dances due to COVID and our hall being closed. Be safe out there and look out for each other during this stressful time. For many of us, square dancing IS our therapy! Miss you all! Yellow rocks!

Columbia River Dancers are joining the cancellation epidemic. We will be dark for the rest of March. No lessons on March 17, 24 or 31. Our dance on March 28 will also be dark. Be safe, wash your hands & look out for one another. President Trump has designated Sunday as a National Day of Prayer. Please join us in asking God for help in these troubling times.

TONIGHT'S Plus and a Litttle More with Jim Hattrick has been cancelled. Also March 26th. He will resume in April for the 9th & 23rd. Lord willing and the creek don't rise! Stay safe!

I went to B&B's lat night. Three squares. Came home, washed my hands good. I woke up today, alive. Proving that it's probably OK to come to the CRD dance on Saturday. Wash your hands, and square 'em up!
For the record and information of anyone 'checking in': Saturdays 5th Anniversary dance will be held as planned and where scheduled (see the ads). Extra hand washing stations will be provided. If St. Patrick would protect Ireland from snakes, he'll protect us from a runny nose.
All of you members planning on attending this Saturday's (14 March) dance remember that it is Pi Day. You know, 3.14. That should give you some ideas for break time! :) :) :)
I love square dancing and it’s a big part of Bob’s and my life. We would feel lost without it. There is something I would like to comment on. Being an Angel and helping new dancers learn and see them later at square dances is a really fun part of dancing and a privilege. It is an Angel’s responsibility to treat these wonderful people with the utmost respect. Being helpful and courteous, not pushing, pulling nor trying to shove them into the right place because you are frustrated. Nor lecturing them on how they should be learning quicker. Everyone learns things at a different rate. Some have to do it, some have to see it done, and many just don’t get it quickly and that’s where we need to be extremely patient. I have heard Jim say over and over, don’t help. If they don’t move, leave them there. If someone keeps pushing you to the right spot, chances are you don’t learn where to go on your own and it takes much longer to learn where to go. If you don’t have the patience to let dancers learn on their own, then please don’t Angel!
Thank you to the CRD's and your Sunshine Girl for my Birthday card. That's never been a 'big deal ' in my life before, but I find myself surprisingly pleased by this one. Thanks for the effort expended in finding the date and tracking me down. If you keep that kind of behavior up, I'm going to have to start saying nice things about you all. :)
To those of you who did not make it to Mid Winter, you missed out, just in general. More specifically, Melissa did a (typically) great job on her two chances with the microphone at the New Callers showcase. You might be tempted to say "That's nice" but you would be missing the point. Not the National callers, not the Regional callers, not the local callers and none of the other 'wannebe' callers had the Front Porch Trio as backup singers. Not once, but twice! Melissa is a treasure and needs to (continue) to be encouraged and supported. A rare asset to the Club.
