I ran across this post that screamed at me, grabbed my arm, sat me down, and made me read it. It was for me. It was a love letter to me and my inner child. That child fights daily to come out of the closet she used to hide and play in, hoping she could go unnoticed and find peace in there. How hard I fight to remind that baby girl that we are FREE and that it is ok to come out and play.
Suffering from CPTSD that is attached to childhood trauma comes with a host of other symptoms that people don't share. Not just the ones that your body goes through like the darkness, crying spells, Charley horses, unexplainable fights with depression, etc but how you are now an alien. An alien to your family. You have put yourself on a spaceship to fly far away from those who hurt you which means you also have to fly away from those who are attached to those who hurt you.
This isn’t about just me not missing my mother. I grieve the mother I need and needed, but I don't miss the one that I have. And that is totally ok to say that. I have forgiven her, but that doesn't mean that she is allowed access to me. This is all part of my new journey in healing, accepting, and loving ME!
I appreciate this post yelling at me the way it did, and now it is time for it to speak to someone else on the same journey! May peace follow you always! 🧘🏾♀️✨️
