For our upcoming production of Dear Evan Hansen, we’re looking for a few cell phones that we can borrow for use during the show.

Phones need to:
• Power on
• Hold a charge
• Have the password disabled or provided to us

No active cell service is needed.

FINAL CALL FOR LOUISIANA PLAYWRIGHTS

Submissions for Stage the Vote close August 31.

Presented by the Power Coalition for Equity and Justice and Mid City Civic Theatre, this inaugural ten-minute play competition invites writers to explore voting, civic engagement, democracy, and voter history through original works.

Cash awards:

High School: $250
Undergraduate: $500
Graduate/Adult: $1,000

Selected plays will be featured at the Stage the Vote Festival on September 26 at Mid City Civic Theatre, with additional opportunities for winning works to reach audiences across Louisiana.

Today, our A New Day Fund stands at $45,078 toward our $75,000 first-year fundraising goal.

That means we are just $4,922 away from $50,000.

So we’re setting ourselves a challenge: Let’s reach $50K by Opening Night of Dear Evan Hansen.

Every gift to the A New Day Fund helps us keep the theatre open, bring productions to our stage, care for and improve our historic building, and prepare for larger needs that will help secure the future of Mid City Civic Theatre.

And because MCCT is completely volunteer-run, there are no staff salaries being paid from these donations. Your support goes directly back into nurturing this theatre and creating a home for the arts in Baton Rouge.

We’re getting closer, one project, one production, and one gift at a time.
