That kind of history doesn’t disappear. It becomes the foundation for what comes next.

Mid City Civic Theatre is honored to carry that spirit forward, while building something new alongside this community.

In the past few weeks, we’ve felt the support, the curiosity, and the care people still have for this space. It matters. And it’s helping shape what this next chapter can be.

Now, a new chapter is unfolding. Mid City Civic Theatre is honored to steward this space and build on its legacy with a fresh, artist driven vision for what community theatre can be in Mid City.

We are preparing to announce our inaugural production soon, and the energy inside these walls is building once again.

Arrangements have been made for Tee's service. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel by David Guillory. At the request of family, visitation will be held the same day from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of long-time, beloved volunteer Tarril "Tee" Fontenot. He passed unexpectedly Tuesday evening, surrounded by friends and family.

Tee crewed or performed in almost every show at TBR for over a decade. He was always there with a smile and a kind word and was always willing to help in any way he could. He was the epitome of generosity. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Please join us in sharing your memories about Tee!

A few people had changes in their schedules, so we've got a few more slots open for today's costume sale.
Don't worry about signing up, just come to the theater by 3 pm. We'll be here until 4!

Theatre Baton Rouge will be having a public costume sale on Saturday, May 3 starting at 10 am! Come look through the racks for your favorite costumes!

To keep the sale orderly and give everyone the best experience, shoppers must sign-up for an hour-long appointment here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050E4EACAD2AA1FF2-56405108-theatre

Twelve shoppers will be allowed in at a time. All shoppers must have an appointment. Individuals without an appointment will not be allowed in.

Dear TBR friends,

Now that the last performance has occurred at Theatre Baton Rouge, we wanted to thank you for all that you have done for TBR throughout the years. It is only because of your service, the contributions of your resources, and attendance at our shows that we were able to survive and thrive through the last 79 years!

As of Monday, April 14 the box office will no longer be staffed on a regular basis. If you call you will need to leave a voicemail. It may take some time for you to receive a response as the voicemail box won't be checked regularly. Please know that we are still here for you as things progress though! If you need to contact us, please email [email protected], [email protected], or a Board member directly. We are all still regularly checking these email addresses and you will receive a faster response through email.
