Hi everyone! Aaron Connor here from Cypher Sound reporting from beautiful Baton Rouge Louisiana! Just a quick update.. Things are going great for me in Louisiana. I'm loving Baton Rouge so much. I wish I could say I'm totally involved in some big music project but at the moment I'm just totally involved and invested in my new home remodel, my son's education, my wife's happiness and her new career in Occupational health and my new promotion to IT System Administrator of S&B engineers and constructors. I love my new office and the people in Louisiana are just the nicest. Southern hospitality is what's up! Not to mention the food. OMG!!

One of the reasons I took a break from music is to focus on my new role in VDI. VDI stands for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. Our future as a leader in petrol-chemical design and engineering is fully dependent on all of our genius people around the globe working together from anywhere in the world. We bring them together by creating virtual desktops that all go to one server in Texas. None of these computers exist in real life, so issues are difficult to diagnose. The architecture is extremely complex and I am learning from the best minds in the business. This is all very time consuming and problematic therefore it's also very rewarding.

Soon I will be changing this site to Aaron Connor - Tonmeister Engineer and mix. I will leave all archive data up for all the Cypher Sound memories. Going forward I will update this site with what I am doing in music currently. That could mean from anywhere in the US or the world. If you are looking for the physical studio in Kansas City, it still exists as Allegro Recording LLC. They have all new gear so check them out!

That being said, I am now accepting proposals in music projects on a limited basis. I have been approached to produce, but I don't think I will have time to dedicate the kind of deep commitment it takes to produce a project. I have a limited setup at home, but I most likely will be renting a studio in New Orleans for mixes and re-mixes. So please hit me up if you have got something for me and I will consider at this time. I need to have music in my life!!

Cypher Sound Studio is currently closed for renovation and will come back with brand new gear and the same professional sound and vibe you have come to expect.

Aaron Connor will be relocating to the deep south USA and taking the Cypher Sound Brand with him. Please contact Aaron directly by the end of August if there is any business you need to take care of in Kansas City.

Cypher Sound will be re-branded as Allegro Recording LLC. This may look familiar to some of you who have paid by credit card in the past and gotten a receipt. This was always the name of the studio, Cypher Sound was a DBA created by Aaron in 2006.

Bob Bibb has decided to invest in the future of the studio which is a great thing. 3600 Main is a special place filled with thousands of days of great memories of recording and mixing great music. Thanks to Bob it will continue to be that way, instead of being demolished and turned into high rise apartments, a shopping mall or a parking lot. Places like Cypher support musicians without the need for constant growth or profits and it's important for musicians and producers to support that as well because recording studios like Cypher are becoming quite rare these days.

For now, Bob has decided to hand over day to day operations to the great Steve McBride. We wish Bob and Steve - God Speed in the future of creative endeavors and "fun factor" at +11 overdrive.

Thank you to my KC music family for all the great sessions you have given me over the years. Thank you to every small and big artist I have had the privilege to produce. Thank you to all the independent and major labels that have booked time and helped keep the lights on. Thank you to Bob Bibb for making Cypher affordable to all by keeping overhead costs low for us who have a tough time making $$ in recorded music these days. Thank you to our rehearsal tenants for helping us with those costs year after year. Neither Bob nor I ever made any money from the studio business. This was all a labor of love.
