Quality Performances:

BRBT presents an annual dance season that includes two local company performances featuring guest artists and at least one performance by a professional touring guest company. BRBT's The Nutcracker – A Tale from the Bayou has been a Baton Rouge holiday tradition for over 25 years. Set in 19th-century Louisiana among familiar local landmarks, this holiday favorite features wo

rld-class professional guest artists and live accompaniment by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra - maintaining all the elegance and grandeur of the classic ballet but with a fun local twist. Community Outreach & Dance Education:

BRBT’s outreach programs share the art of dance with thousands in our community each year. Student Matinees, offered at a discounted rate to local schools, provide children the opportunity to pair classroom curriculum with live professional performances at the theatre. Ballet for Children brings dancers into local schools to provide students with an educational, energetic and entertaining introduction to dance and nutrition. The 45-minute program has traveled to more than 10 parishes, reaching over 50,000 students in more than 100 schools. Youth Ballet’s summer program allows dancers, ages 10-14, an opportunity to strengthen their technique and give back to the community. This summer tour consists of about 30 free-to-the-public performances at area libraries, youth camps, community centers, retirement centers and nursing homes. Dedicated to developing and nurturing future generations of dance artists, BRBT offers master classes, summer intensives, national audition opportunities and ballet training scholarships throughout the year. BRBT has been awarded Honor Company Status by Regional Dance America, a national organization of adjudicated dance companies maintaining the highest standards of artistic quality and dance education.

That's a wrap on Rapunzel and the 2025-2026 season! We had so much fun working with this spectacular cast.

Our seniors bid a tearful goodbye as the curtain fell on their last BRBT production (for now).

Emelia and Max received glowing reviews from our audience members, and we are so grateful for their hard work and dedication to Rapunzel.

A huge thank you to Alo Bloom's Kalayna Walker for allowing us to share her story. We loved working with you.

Finally, can we get one last round of applause for the Rapunzel cast? They worked for months on this production, and they should be so proud of what they accomplished (we know we are). We are so thankful for our beautiful dancers.
