Hello everyone! So far, this has been an incredible year, full of momentous occasions.
Every week, I take hikes with my Survey of Southeastern Wildlife class to search for all the critters in the boot! I am truly soaking up every minute of it and love learning alongside my peers and professor. 🐊
I started working for , leading a project managing invasive water hyacinth. All I have ever wanted in a job is to be able to do meaningful conservation work, to travel the world, and to keep in touch with art. , an incredible artist (and my wonderful mentor!) has done an amazing job finding ways to merge art with an already multidisciplinary field in science. The lab welcomed me with open arms and I have already seen the opportunity waiting for me in this field. Just in these past few months, I met with South Africa’s Centre for Biological Control ( ), presented in New Orleans, and have tons of projects in the works! I look forward to the travel, peaceful greenhouse days, and working alongside my colleagues every day.
Lastly, I spent this past Mardi Gras season working with .co to collect recyclables along the parade route. We successfully diverted 73,858 lbs of aluminum, glass, and plastic from landfills!! How amazing is that?? , thank you SO much for having me!
I look forward to keeping up the work I have been doing and sharing these accomplishments with everyone! Let’s geaux 2025!!
