The artist behind the art… Anne Matthews. I chose to use the name Happy Eye Designs when I started on this endeavor in 2019. I felt it encompassed all of my artistic creations- canvas art, clay art, beading, and coming soon… candle painting!! But, I do find, I always go back to the canvas….
The History:
•first art class age 8
•grew up watching and learning from my mom
•began as an LSU fine arts major
•finished with a masters in education and a minor in art history
•raising a family while continuing with art workshops
•working at The Royal Standard in 2019 was given an opportunity to go back to my first love, ART
•2020 started Happy Eye Designs with the goal of creating things that make the “eyes and heart happy!”

I believe God makes us all as he’d like us to be, with certain strengths and weaknesses. When complemented on my craft, I often say “I can’t add 2+2, but I can draw what I see.” I didn’t choose the gift, but I am glad that I’ve been able to make something of it, and hopefully, in some small way, honor Him with the work I do.
