Have been studying on how I wanted to do our “shine your light” thing this year. So starting now, we aren’t going to wait until the end of the year now. We are going to put it out here for everyone to see. Let everyone see how God is working in our little association. So with that being said…. Let’s jump right in.
Last rodeo, we were in between events, and a young bull rider came to the announcer stand carrying a bull riding vest. Just figuring it was another thing needed to be added to the lost and found. This young man said, “Mrs. Tina, I would like this to go to someone who needs it.” I said how much do you want for it. We always have people looking for gear. He said “no, I want to give it to them.” This was not a worn out vest, this was a vest that could have been sold for quite a bit. I asked him if he was sure, and he smiled, and said “yes ma’am.” I think I hugged him, honestly I can’t remember because it floored me. I just put it under my little table beside me, in awe of the kindness of this young man. Mind you he is ALWAYS, polite, kind, and just an all around good kid. (And plays a mean guitar too!!) When he came back up Saturday night, I held it up and asked him, if he was sure that is what he wanted to do. Again with a huge smile, “yes ma’am!!”
Shortly after he left a couple came up to visit with us, and I was telling them about this young man’s amazing gift to someone. It just so happened a young man just getting started, was borrowing a vest, and this one would fit him perfectly. Ya’ll that is all God! The blessing from the giver, and the blessing to the receiver. I would say that is a perfect example of our “shine your light”. Cody Johnson you are an amazing young man, thank you for your kindness! Felicia, momma, you are doing good with him!! We are blessed to have you all in our AJRA family.
