The Independence County Fair would like to congratulate Mr. Finley Watkins on winning the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest. The award begins Elvis Week at Graceland, where Finley was awarded Tuesday! The award is the official world wide competition sanctioned by Elvis Presley Enterprises. Finley is the youngest recipient in the history of this award since its inception in 2007 and received a $20,000 Grand Prize from Elvis Presley Enterprises. Furthermore, it was his first appearance at the competition after achieving the Smoky Mountains Elvis Tribute preliminary.

The Independence County Fair has been honored to have this talented young man perform on our stage the past two years. We are excited for his achievements and know many more accomplishments lay ahead for him!

This year, Denison Farms introduced a new award at the Independence County Fair, recognizing the High Point Junior and High Point Senior exhibitors in the Blanche Crain Educational Building.

The recipients were:
High Point Senior: Marthee Smithee
High Point Junior: Riley Reese
Riley's award was accepted on his behalf by his mother.

Both winners received a custom engraved cutting board created by Shanda Wood and the FBLA students at Cedar Ridge High School.
Congratulations to both winners on their accomplishments!

If you have never been to one of these services- it truly is top notch. It includes many ways of memoralizing and honoring our United States Veterans: posting of the colors, music, scripture readings, recitations, poetry, and much more. This year’s Wall of Fame Inductees are listed under the photos. Thank you to everyone listed in the brochure who help make this service so memorable every year.
