Exploring the Colorful World of Yayoi Kusama with The Crayon Cauldron in our Homeschool Art Foundations Class Series.

Our young artists kicked off the first part of a two-week art series on Monday, exploring the life and work of Yayoi Kusama, an incredible artist known for her bold patterns, endless dots, and immersive art installations!

The students learned about her life and artwork through a slideshow and watched videos of her famous Infinity Rooms and interactive, collaborative dot installations!

One of the coolest connections they made was realizing that they've created collaborative artwork of their own right here at the studio with our honey bee hive wall!

Then it was time to get their hands messy! The students began creating papier-mâché pumpkins using plastic bags as their base. It was definitely a challenging project, but they worked hard, embraced the process, and did such a great job!

We can't wait to see how their creations come together as we dive deeper into Kusama's colorful, polka-dot-filled world next week!

If you homeschool and have a 5-7 year old interested in Art, we will be starting a Homeschool Class Series for the younger kids soon! Stay Tuned!

Cue the spooky Halloween music!

What a fun and unique night at Nakama Studio!

The Crayon Cauldron led a wonderfully spooky and creative evening, turning something that might be the stuff of nightmares for some into beautiful works of art!

Everyone got to create framed art using snakeskin, dried flowers, and leaves, along with their very own snakeskin jewelry!

Tucker's Party Animals brought along some slithery special guests, and there were plenty of snake snuggles to go around! The snakes seemed to love all the attention just as much as everyone loved meeting them.

A huge thank you to The Crayon Cauldron and Tucker's Party Animals for bringing such a fun, creative, and unforgettable experience to the studio!

A little spooky, a little beautiful, and a whole lot of fun!
