Austin Zen Center celebrated its 25 year anniversary by inviting Sangha members to sit zazen together, followed by a ceremony. Delicious food was served while we enjoyed taiko drums and other entertainment. I was able to donate to the silent auction as well to contribute and support. Thank you AZC for being here for all beings. 10 years ago I was lost and afraid. I came to this temple for help and answers to many questions. You taught me zazen and gave me a place to practice kindness. The unlearning continues and I hope to lose more and more each day that I'm alive. A fire inside me was set aflame and I don't believe it will ever be extinguished. Thanks to all the people who have come and gone and made Zenkei-ji what it is today. 🙏🏽

The nepenthes have upgraded their homes and are ready to set down roots in these stunning Rob Sheldon hanging planters! The beauty of these pitcher plants combined with Rob's amazing pieces is such a joy to my eyes. Thank you Mr. Sheldon for what you do!

40 hour wood firing center . Krystal and I met some super cool people and got a little look into what it takes to make this happen. It takes a dedicated group of committed artists to make sure the pieces make it through this long process. Special thanks to Rob Sheldon tree_and_clay for the invitation. We're honored and thankful for the opportunity 🙏🏽🐺

Today I was gifted with three John Naka bonsai illustrations! They belonged to someone's grandmother who met Mr. Naka a few times. The donor wrote to me saying "I would like to give you one as I know grandma would appreciate it going to someone who loves the art as much as she did." I'm honored and touched. Thank you Julie! I will care for them and make sure they go on to another bonsai practitioner who loves this art form as much as I do after me. 🙏🏽

This nepenthes 'Diana' was one of my first carnivorous plants purchased in 2025. To my surprise I kept it alive for over a year. I heard these plants were hard to care for. Not true at all! Diana and a Venus flytrap were my introduction to this fascinating world of bug eating plants! Today, Dianna was planted in a beautiful handmade container made by my lovely spouse, Krystal Wilford. I think they pair very well together. 🙂 Thanks for reading 🙏🏽
