Step back in time with Baroque Music Montana at the Refuge Gallery on August 23rd starting at 1pm. This summer, we grab Harlequin masks as well as instruments to explore the sights and sounds of early modern Naples. We'll showcase how the art of improvisation applied not only to music, but to theatre tradition of Commedia dell'arte, where every street is a stage and every plot twist an opportunity. Featuring comedian specialist, actor Mace Perlmann.$25 suggested donation. See you there!

We’ve been busy bees! 🐝 Nan and Jennifer have spent the past few weeks pouring their hearts into setting up the Basin Art Gallery for something truly special — the Jerry Rankin Exhibition and Sale (cash or check only). We can’t wait to finally open the doors on June 29 (11-4) and then welcome you every Sunday through August!

🎨 Honoring Jerry Rankin 🎨

We are deeply honored to celebrate the life and legacy of Montana artist Jerry Rankin. Thanks to the generosity of the Rankin family we are offering a special collection of his original works for sale — each piece a vibrant testament to his creative spirit and love of Montana.

Visit us at the Basin Gallery beginning June 29 to experience Rankin’s art up close and take home a piece of local history. Proceeds will support future exhibitions and arts education in our community.

.stoddard.art is a contemporary artist whose work explores the layered legacies of family, industry, and belonging. Raised among the steel industries of Pittsburgh, Chris draws inspiration from the tension between human enterprise and the natural world. Her recent month-long residency at the Artist Refuge in Basin, Montana, further informed her practice, as she foraged for wild clay and reflected on what we carry from our families—both as armor and as heritage. Through sculpture and installation, Chris investigates the alchemy of transforming personal and communal histories, asking: What does it mean to truly belong to a place?

Join us! Closing Reception for Kate Huston and her photography show, "Abandoned Spaces, A Life Once Lived" on Saturday, August 3rd - 11 am to 4 pm at the Refuge Gallery in Basin.

Let's show Kate our gratitude for the creative inspiration she gleaned from her artist residency at the Montana Artist Refuge. She'll share some of her most memorable moments and reflections on her summer in Basin. Pulled pork sandwiches and pies will be offered!
