Us gals met Monday evening, and we have some really exciting changes coming to hopefully ease communication and smooth out some things for both us, and you!

1. Moving forward all draw and entry related questions need to be directed to DSP’s phone line (509) 539-9431 - please do not text our private numbers moving forward when it comes to any draw related things. It gets crazy the week of and during the race weekend and honestly it’s hard to keep track of things when we all are getting draw related texts/calls and trying to forward it to the person handling it. We are all here for you anytime, but when it comes to the draw and anything entry related the easiest and most efficient way is to text or call the DSP line. You will get a confirmation text when we’ve received your text.

2. All pen requests will be reserved by sending a message directly to our DSP Facebook. We will continue to open them with reminders of the date, and have found opening them closer to race week is easiest with how many changes and cancellations we get. $10 per horse moving forward, not per pen - and needs to be paid at the time of reservation. (Amber Mitchell will handle all the requests moving forward)

3. Office will open at 830am on the weekends for any DSP race. The door will be locked 30 minutes after the race starts, but again - call the DSP number or check at the office window. Tai will likely be in there but we need to limit some traffic.

4. All checks will be printed Sunday after the race. They will be ready 30 minutes after the race ends. if you choose not stay and pick up your check, Tai always gets them mailed out by the next day! (Make sure your Saddlebook address is correct)

5. We will have spots set out to dump any manure and those spots will remain the same for each race moving forward. Anyone parked in the gravel from the office and back needs to clean up after their horses or will have to make some changes. We truly want to keep it easy, but we also want to get home as well at the end of the weekend. (We will make a satellite map for manure dumping spots & parking)

We had a lot of fun giveaways we were able to do all weekend during our race! From goodies for your horses, to stuff for you! We have a lot of thanks to give to so many great people & business that helped make our Cinco de Mayo race one for the books! Let’s start off with our help in this post followed by sponsor shoutouts!

🚜 The tractor guys - they started Thursday night and alarms were set rather early each morning to prep! Thank you Matt Lewis Evan Dodson Scott Uribe for giving us fast safe ground all weekend! They all are always making sure the peewees have money to win also with adding the added money!

🛢️Barrel Setters - Maci & Jaden drove from Finley each day and were there by 1030 to set barrels and didn’t leave those barrels until the race was over! They were a huge help and helped us keep things rolling smoothly and quickly!

💻 Betty Jo Plumlee sat up stairs entering times into a program we showed her just before the race started.. she spent the entire two days up there making sure you all had live results with Saddlebook

🌯 Manny for showing up with homemade breakfast burritos and homemade salsa for the entire crew! What a lifesaver… and amazing burritos! You’re hired to make sure we are fed in the mornings here on out!

🍩 Kelsey Ann Plughoff and her husband John showed up with Spudnut donuts, and that’s how we knew we’d definitely survive the day! A box for the office & a box for the tractor crew! 🍹Lacy, a friend from Oregon showed up with nearly all the margarita stuff that you guys enjoyed and insisted she took that off our hands and handled it!

I am sure we are missing someone and it’s unintentional! We don’t always get to see who all jumps in and lends a hand at our races.. but thank you so much for helping us keep things rolling! I had phone conversations with people entering offering to help and I’ve never met them before - our barrel racing is seriously the best! ❤️❤️❤️

What a weekend at the 3rd Annual Cinco de Mayo barrel race! Fast times, good music, and great company all weekend! Pam Coker set the pace Saturday with a smoking 17.136 and Sunday Lindsey Ham laid down another fast 17.162 to win Sunday! That mother/daughter duo stole the show this weekend! 🔥🤩

Stalls & RV available through Saddlebook if you decide to stay and run at both the NFR Race and the Christmas Tree Race – something fun up is up for grabs to a lucky person that does enter both!

We will work with you if you choose to run at both Sidney’s race in Selah, and ours in Moses Lake also - just let us both know so we do the draw accordingly.

There will also be another basket to be awarded to a lucky someone that does choose to attend both races Sunday. Valued at $150 minimum!

Wear your Christmas outfits, ugly sweaters, anything Christmas.. and come have some fun! Jeff Marshall with be announcing and having the music rolling, and we will have a photographer to capture some fun moments.
