BARTLETT BAPTIST CHURCH TO SUPPLY RESIDENTS WITH CLEAN DRINKING WATER
¬
(February 22, 2021) – Bartlett Baptist Church announced they would be offering the residents of Memphis and surrounding areas affected by the current Memphis Light, Gas, and Water (MLGW) Boiled Water Advisory an opportunity to fill up containers with clean drinking water.
On February 18, MLGW announced they would be issuing a precautionary boiled water advisory due to recent water main breaks and freezing temperatures that had caused low water pressure in MLGW's water system. The low pressure in the water mains could allow harmful bacteria to affect the water quality. This boil advisory doesn't affect the City of Bartlett; however, Bartlett Baptist wants to do their part in ensuring that the neighboring communities have access to clean drinking water.
Starting Wednesday, February 24, between 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Bartlett Baptist Church, located at 3465 Kirby Whitten Pkwy Bartlett, TN) will be giving residents the ability to fill containers with clean drinkable water. This service will continue Monday – Thursday at the time listed until MLGW issues a notice that rescinds the boil water notice, or an announcement made by Bartlett Baptist.
It is important to note that the City of Bartlett's water department doesn't expect the increase of water usage from Bartlett Baptist Church to adversely affect residents who get water from the City of Bartlett. However, if a decrease in pressure or quality is detected, Bartlett Baptist Church will cease this outreach opportunity.
