After founding director Dr. Robert Hauck stepped down, three talented local musicians carried the Bartlesville Choral Society forward: Lauren Green (1981–82), Noel Kaiser (1982–83), and Susan Mueller, who became director in the fall of 1983. Susan went on to lead the Chorale for nearly 35 years, serving as director until 2018.

Their dedication and leadership helped build on the strong foundation established in the Society's early years, ensuring its continued growth, musical excellence, and lasting impact on our community.

Oklahoma is home to rich Native cultures and histories that continue to shape the artistic identity of our state today.

On Saturday night, that voice will be part of our stage as the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra performs music by acclaimed Chickasaw composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha Tate.

His music is rhythmic, powerful, cinematic, and deeply rooted in storytelling tradition—bringing a perspective to orchestral music that audiences do not often have the chance to experience live.

This concert celebrates many American voices. This one is especially meaningful here at home.

Peter Boyer’s Rhapsody in Red, White & Blue will receive its Oklahoma premiere in our upcoming performance featuring pianist Jeffrey Biegel.

A vibrant, cinematic celebration of American music, the work blends energy, lyricism, and orchestral brilliance in a modern rhapsodic form inspired by Gershwin’s legacy.

With this performance, Oklahoma becomes the 50th state to present this work—a milestone moment for a uniquely American piece of music.
