We had a very productive day at the Grey Dog Listening Room yesterday!

Thanks to all who came and helped make a noticeable positive change in its appearance!

Isaac Mattox scraped a section of the parking, and purchased the concrete circle so I could make the flowerbed, Debbie Malone Carr weedeated, Jurine Elkins made the windows shine like a mirror in preparation for additional art, Deana Smith worked outside and cleaned the green room, including the couch making it look almost new, my mom Jessie Martin and Stacey Foresman donated some money for supplies!

Also! Donnie Wood brought my trailer back from Mom’s, even though he was busy with the ballet, and he gave pizza money too!

It all came together for noticeable improvement, which I did not take a photo of because I was exhausted after working 10 hours yesterday! Once I came home after a shower and had Django in my lap (and a blanket), I fell asleep before the opening credits of Star Trek even ended!

The flowers in the bed will be under a shade cloth for a bit to ease them past transplant shock. It will probably be a few weeks before we will have blooms, but that’s ok!

It would be nice to make another circle at the studio side of the building, so hopefully that can happen before it’s too late to transplant all the babies in the harsh sun.

Don’t forget, Wednesday is Pepper’s Earth Day Birthday, and Friday Amy Speace Wood will be appearing at the Grey Dog!

PS, knocking down the mailboxes was one of the most gratifying experiences ever! I got endless satisfaction from it! I can’t wait to see how Jurine decorates the replacement mailboxes.

Sending love to all who read this!

She regularly performs at The Rocky Mountain Folks Festival and The Kerrville Folk Festival and has appeared at Glastonbury Music Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival.

She has also appeared on Mountain Stage Radio 4 times.”

“Bartlesville gets another reminder that live music still exists outside of overpriced arenas and sticky bar floors this weekend, as Poppa Foster’s Green Corn Rebellion takes over the Grey Dog Listening Room Saturday night. The March 21st show kicks off at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6, giving attendees just enough time to settle in before things get loud in a good way.

The Grey Dog Listening Room, located at 812 W. 14th Street, leans hard into the “actually listen to the music” concept, which, in 2026, feels like borderline heresy. The venue keeps things intimate, offering a stripped-down experience for people who prefer guitars over chatter. It’s also BYOB, includes a voluntary potluck, and encourages guests to dress up just enough to pretend this isn’t your average Saturday night.

Space is limited, it really is, so organizers are asking guests to RSVP in advance by texting 918-397-5818. For those tired of shouting over cover bands and dodging spilled drinks, this might be the rare night where the music is actually the main event.”
