Meet Martha Mikula

What do you enjoy most about the Spotlighters?
What I enjoy most about the Spotlighters is the family atmosphere. We truly become a family during a production. I miss my Secret Garden cast. We spent so much time together, and now I never get to see them.

What do you want people to know about the Spotlighters?
People need to know that everyone is welcome with the Spotlighters. If you want to be on stage, come audition. Do you want to help with lights and sound? Give us a call. Interested in set construction or costuming? Please, contact us. If you are good with advertising or social media or just want to help from home, we would be happy to have your help.

What is your dream show to be a part of?
My dream show would be The Sound of Music. I would have loved to play Maria, but now I'm too old and would like to play the Reverend Mother.

What do you enjoy most about the Spotlighters?
The end of a production! And the challenge of putting a good show together.

What do you want people to know about the Spotlighters?
A lot of good people work really hard to bring the community great theatre.

What is your dream show to be a part of?
I don't have a dream show. The one I did have, I did. My daughter and I co-wrote Raggedy Ann and Andy, and we brought it to the stage a few years back.

Get Involved Highlight

Our shows would be nothing without our crew! The first crew we'd like to highlight is our stage managers. Stage managers help with props, scene changes, and are backstage to help whenever needed. They get to wear black and be behind the curtain. Let us know if this sounds interesting to you!

Since we're in the off-season from productions, we thought it would be a good time to get to know our board members.

First up, Sue Pruzek.

1. What I most enjoy about the Spotlighters is the sense of community. When a person joins a production, it feels like family. Everyone is kind and are always willing to help in whatever is needed.

2. What do you want everyone to know about The Spotlighters? The Spotlighters are very excited about doing theatre and want people to experience the joy that theatre brings. The directors are great in advising how to build a character and give many helpful ideas for an actor/actress. Anyone can get this experience by being part of a cast, set crew, costumes, tech crew, stage crew or just being a member of the audience.

3. What I most enjoy about the Spotlighters is the sense of community. When a person joins a production, it feels like family. Everyone is kind and is always willing to help in whatever is needed.

She also really enjoys what can be done with makeup. Check out her as a man for a past production!

Get Involved Highlight
