Hi all!
Thanks to the Spencers and Carolans, this is year 10 of the Rumstick Village Luminaries!
To take the work/effort off of one individual family, we’re going to break things up a bit and people can take responsibility for parts they feel they can manage.
Our family will be responsible for Rumstick Rd from County Rd to Thomas. The Blancos will take Rumstick Rd from Thomas to Ferry Rd. Anyone else interested in taking a section?
What does “being responsible for” mean? It means you’ll get the white paper bags (lunch size) and 10 hour votive candles and sand (Barrington beach is conveniently located near us?)—then, fold and sand the bags in preparation. At 3 pm or so on the 24th, you’ll head out with your family and neighbors and whoever else wants to help to place the bags every 10 feet or so on both sides of the street. Then place the candles and light them at 4/4:15 pm or so. (The sun sets at 4:19 pm.) And finally, in the morning on the 25th, before the festivities begin, you (and whoever else you want to enroll) will pick up the empty bags and dispose of them appropriately.
Obviously, there will be many other people who will help!
So, please reach out if you’re interested in taking on a section of Rumstick or a section off of Rumstick or if you’re interested in doing this somewhere else in Barrington.
If there was ever a time to spread the light, the time is now 🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️
