THE WITCH

Tanya Hammer

Tanya lives in Alexandria, MN, is an ER nurse and also works part time at Vance Thompson Vision. This is her first Prairie Wind Players production!

Q: What do you like about your character?
A: I like that the witch is blunt and tells it like it is, but has a soft side for Rapunzel.

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: Of mine, I like “Last Midnight” because it’s challenging. It’s all over the scale, has tricky timing and the dynamics are fun. My favorite song that isn’t mine is “Giants in the Sky”.

Q: Who was the your favorite character you’ve played in the past?
A: I loved playing “Aunt Sponge” in James and the Giant Peach, and also Morticia in the Addams Family musical.

Fun facts: Most of the facts about me are fun! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas!

FLORINDA

Jessi Schlundt

Jessi is new to the Prairie Wind Players and lives in Ashby, MN. She attends Arizona State University, and is majoring in art education! She loves painting and has recently been getting in to 3D art!

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: “I Know Things Now” because it perfectly captures the moment when Little Red realizes the world is more complicated than she thought. It mixes humor with a deeper realization about growing up that I relate so much to!

Q: What has been your favorite character you’ve played in the past?
A: Anna in Frozen!

Q: What do you like about your character?
A: I always love playing energetic characters! I’ve never played a “villain” role before so it’s been so much fun!

RAPUNZEL

Kyra Beyer

Kyra lives in Barrett and is new to Prairie Wind Players! She is a student and barista at Starbucks!

Q: What do you like about your character?
A: She’s dramatic and loud, kind of like myself! I also love “Tangled” and Rapunzel Barbie!

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: Probably “Agony” because it’s so dramatic and funny! I love the competition between the two princes.

Q: What has Ben your favorite character you’ve played in the past?
A: In One Act this year, I had the best time playing Sibyl in “The Actor’s Nightmare”, specifically the balcony scene!

Fun facts: I love tiny things, and I’m not scared of snakes or spiders!

RAPUNZEL’S PRINCE/MYSTERIOUS MAN

Dylan Marshall

Dylan lives in Alexandria and this is his first production with the Prairie Wind Players! He is playing BOTH Rapunzel’s Prince and Mysterious Man!

Q: What do you like about your characters?
A: I like that the mysterious man loves to freak out whoever he’s talking to then he disappears! I also like that Rapunzel’s Prince has a phobia of dwarves, which is brought up exactly once and never explained.

Q: What has been your favorite character you’ve played in the past?
A: Joseph Pulitzer in Newsies Jr.

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: Agony Reprise. It’s even crazier than the first and funnier in my opinion!

Fun fact: Into the Woods is Dylan’s 9th musical!

CINDERELLA’S STEPMOTHER

Felicia Fredrickson

Felicia lives in Garfield, MN in the summer, and Yanucoa, Puerto Rico in the winter! She is an entrepreneur that has started and sold her own business. She is now a full time loving wife and part time admin at Viking Coca Cola. This is Felicia’s first performance with the Prairie Wind Players!

Q: What has been your favorite character you’ve played in the past?
A: To the little girl in Mall of America that thought I was Elsa: That was not something I was expecting to play that day. Your joy and excitement to “meet” your favorite character is something that I carry with me.

Q: What do you like about your character?
A: Her ability to terrorize everyone through mere intimidation is impressive. Her icy glare speaks volumes without her having to shout or break her aristocratic composure. She is all in, in the worst way!

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: Agony is my favorite song because it brutally parodies the classic flawless “Disney Prince” trope. Instead of noble and deeply in love, the princes are revealed to be incredibly vain, self-absorbed drama queens! Very comedic!

Fun facts: Felicia is also a stepmother, she has climbed to the top of Devils Tower twice, and she became a grandmother at 27.

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: My favorite song is Your Fault. The speed and anger in the song make it so fun to perform!

A: What has been your favorite character you’ve played in the past?
Q: My favorite role in the past was Morticia Addams in The Addams Family

Fun fact: Gracie has played piano for 11 years!

A: I like that my character is laid back and acts drunk. Even though I don’t drink alcohol in real life, I’m doing my best.

Q: What is your favorite song in the musical and why?
A: My favorite song in the musical is First Midnight. I just like the beat of the music and it’s fun to sing.

Broadway comes to Roosevelt Hall with the Prairie Wind Players’ production of the hit musical Into the Woods.

In this fairytale for grownups, Into the Woods weaves favorite storybook characters into a cautionary fable about wishes, family, and the choices we make. Follow Little Red Riding Hood, a Witch, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and the Baker and his wife as they become entangled in one another’s stories and must work together to reset the kingdom. Be careful what you wish for—“happily ever after” is complicated!

Into the Woods is the Tony Award-winning show by the iconic Broadway team of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. There’s comedy, mystery, life lessons, and, of course, enchanting music with songs such as “No One is Alone” and “Children Will Listen.”

Show dates are Thursday-Saturday, June 25, 26, 27 at 7:00 p.m. and a Sunday matinee on June 28 at 2:00 p.m. We’re expecting full houses, so get your tickets early! Tickets are available online; click on the button below, or at the door.
