Welcome to the wonderfully chaotic world of Roxy’s American Girl Doll Book Club.

Where the books are stacked high, the dolls all have names and backstories, the snacks disappear too fast, and somehow every meeting turns into a core memory.

This club is about more than reading — it’s about friendship, imagination, history, laughter, creativity, and keeping a little bit of childhood magic alive.

Between the American Girl stories, the crafts, the inside jokes, and the “just one more chapter” moments… this little community has become something really special.

“Every doll has a story. And every story matters.” Please join me and Ms. Mary this summer at our Summer AG Camp held in Barnum and Hermantown. I’m also offering another summer reading challenge. A huge thank you to Ms. Mary for all the help, guidance, snacks, laughs, and love she pours into our American Girl book club!

From cheering on our wild craft ideas, to printing and framing our AI look-alike dolls, to even scrapbook pages she shares with her sorority sisters so they can see all the fun and creativity happening at book club — she goes above and beyond for our girls every single time.

Thursday night the girls made outfits out of socks- leotards, swimsuits, headbands, tank tops, and skirts! The creativity was high!

DIY hanging lantern-style decorations made from paper cups and yarn, with colorful beads 🎨

Materials:
Paper cups
Yarn or thick thread (for wrapping)
Colorful foam balls / beads
String or cord (for hanging)
Hot glue or craft glue
Colored foam sheets (for decorations like flowers, rainbow, leaves)
Needle (optional for threading beads)
Scissors

How to make:

1. Wrap the cups
Take a paper cup and apply glue around it.
Wrap yarn tightly around the entire cup until fully covered.
Let it dry.

2. Decorate the cup
Cut shapes from foam (flowers, leaves, rainbow, etc.).
Glue them onto the cup for a cute design.

3. Make hanging bead strings
Cut several pieces of string.
Thread colorful beads or foam balls onto each string.
Tie knots to keep beads in place.

4. Attach the bead strings
Glue or tie the strings to the bottom edge inside the cup.
5. Add top hanger
Attach a longer string to the top of the cup for hanging.
