She’s finally here, the surprise August/september creature! Plus swipe to see some cool pups I met at my shanty this past summer! 🥰🥹🦮🐩🐕‍🦺🐾
This past summer at my shanty I started snapping pics of all of my adorable dog visitors! ( and bunny!) One of the first ones was Rocco the Dalmatian I met in May, and I have been thinking about painting a beach Dalmatian since then! Initially I wanted a summer pup inspired by the “dog days of summer” ( similar to my sketchbook page I painted back in August) but I got a little delayed so she got a little wardrobe update for fall. Our double feature creature email will go out tomorrow you can see her with our September creature winner the octopus! ( wait till you see her!) ArtsBarnstable

What should our Dalmatian be named?? Vote below, or comment your ideas!

This was the first summer I put out a guestbook poster at my shanty and I honestly had no idea if people would sign it. What I didn’t expect was to watch day after day, everyone stopping to sign and read it. Women, men, children, friend groups, bachelorettes, honeymooners, first-time cape visitors, people finding signatures from their hometowns states away, and people signing from all over the world. All ages, all summer long. I was blown away with how quickly they filled up and loved that it did not deter anyone from squeezing their name in! I loved hearing you guys laugh over the silly little creatures and their names. Thank you to everyone who stopped and signed, and connected with me and my art.

People visited from Tokyo, the Philippines, England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, South Africa, Brazil, Germany, Australia, and of course states all across the US. Maybe this winter I’ll go through and tally them all. 🥰
These are getting framed and hung in my office this winter! Stay tuned for this winter as I plan the guestbook lineup for next summer. And if you don’t see where you live signed on there, maybe it’s your sign to plan a trip for next summer to come sign it 😏🩵.
(Cheryl did get ALOT fuller, I just forgot to snap a pic on the last day!) ArtsBarnstable
