Spirit Lake Arts Press Release:

Spirit Lake Arts will be hosting the 2nd annual, art exhibit at 3rd Street Nutrition, 112 Third Street downtown Baraboo. The exhibit will begin on February 1st and continue through February 28th. An opening reception will be held on Friday, February 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Piano by Leeza will provide music, refreshments will be served. Many of the participating artists will be present, awards will be presented. Come and enjoy an evening of art works created by area artists.

If you are an area artist and wish to participate, please go online to spiritlakearts.com to fill out an application. Deadline for application is January 21st.

A bit of history. In 1985 a group of young artisans formed the Baraboo Artisans. They held a show once a year in the Old Elks Club. This show was held for ten years. At the last show, discussion was taking place about starting an Art Tour that would happen in the Fall. The Fall Art Tour was created in 1994. This Tour continues , 30 years later. Many other events have spun off this group. One instigator has developed the Very Merry Holiday Fair and now, this new Baraboo event. Cool Boo Open Studios...hopefully Open Studios will have a long run. * Note - The Cool Boo Open Studios only last a couple years but has inspired others to keep dreaming.
